I had an oil leak and manifold had to be removed; they wanted over $2000 for this work; i declined to have it done here. I took to another certified mechanic and the total charge was only $290! Get more estimates before having work done here!

The service is fine. The workers are good. They had my car for a couple of hours. I would recommend them to a friend.   They are doing some remodelling in the building. I have been taking my care there for about four years.

Upon going to my work truck to drive to work one day, I found that the truck was completely dead. After checking the battery (full), I noted that there was no power whatsoever to the vehicle. So, I called the service department at Western Slope Auto. I explained the issue to the lady who answered and was told that I needed to get the vehicle in to the service department - they had no in-house tow service but that I was free to call the tow service that they recommended. If the trouble was a warranty issue (the truck only had approx. 27,000 miles on it) the repair and tow should be covered.
So I call the tow company, the truck is towed in (about 10 miles) and later I hear from the service advisor that they have diagnosed the issue as a bad Body Control Module. They say it’s covered under warranty and that and the tow will be covered. They also tell me that there is an ABS warning light on and ask if I want that fixed. I approve and they fix that.
By the end of the following day, the service advisor calls back to say it’s done. Bill for the ABS issue (not warranty) comes to $60 - and by the way, because it's a and quot;fleet vehicle, and quot; not personally owned, the $150 tow is not covered, so the total comes to over $200. and quot;Shouldn't the tow be covered since it was an expense due to a defective part, and quot; I say. The service advisor repeats that it isn't covered. “I have been told now two or three times by the service department that the tow would/should be covered,” I say. “Sorry,” was the reply. I ask to talk to his supervisor. Later, the supervisor calls me and tells me the same thing. So, I ask to talk to the service department manager. I am told he (Kevin Wade) will call me. After waiting four days for Wade to call me, I decide to cut my losses, pay and get my vehicle back, which I have now been without for almost a week.

Update 03/25/14: Service Manager called today and stated that the tow fee would be covered and that his employees had incorrectly charged me for the tow. $150 has been refunded.
Response from Western Slope Auto
"Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback, and we are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. It seems there was a misunderstanding on our side that led us to provide you with some incorrect information. For that we do apologize, and we have taken steps to ensure it won't happen again. It's my understanding that Kevin Wade has since been in touch with you to correct the error and addressed any other concerns. Thank you for the opportunity to fix our mistake, and again we apologize for the trouble."

About what you would expect from a dealership. no specific problems, but left feeling that I was just another customer to move through the mill.

Left shop and car started bucking. Could barely drive back to Western Slope Ford. They would not do anything. Said to leave it and they'd see tomorrow or next day. Next day they said they'd have to repalce transmission now for whole lot more money. Wouldn't apply money already spent to more repair. The car ran okay before we took it there but couldn't drive it after this first repair. We dumped the car and went to another dealer. Will never buy here again. Absolutely no discussion or working with you.

My experience with them has been adequate, not too great. They have got the job done, so far. I don't really like the staff but I have a Ford so I go back there.

Chris was so professional. I told him about the problems I'd had with another dealership. Right away, he found us a 2000 4WD pickup with only 76,000 miles in primo condition. My husband couldn't get away from work to test-drive it, so he said, let's just drive over to him then. So we drove over to my husband--15 miles away--and let us drive it. It was pulling a little to the left, and Chris said that we could have the tires aligned by their company for free and he gave me a voucher. They also said we could get the first oil change for free--on a used vehicle! They were very honest in all of the financial matters. I recommend anyone in the Grand Junction area to go see them!
