Horribly. He wouldn't show up when he said he would. He'd come after hours and work when no one was around, and thereby avoid contact with the contractor. Tile laying was sloppy and joints were not even, errors were made at door jams. Shower pans were not built without waterproofing!!
Several attempts were made to regroup with him and get things on track, he always responded favorably, saying he could make things right, and then ultimately he bailed.
He would not make his work right, his presence alternated between antagonistic and defensive; costs to me extended beyond the need to re-do his work, but I ended up needing to use a highly toxic substance to water proof the shower pans (after extreme effort had been made to reduce toxicity in building material choices house-wide); and construction delays caused by his delays meant time and money on a larger scale then just tile.
It was such a distressing experience, I took him to small claims court and we settled with him refunding me directly.

I found him through word-of-mouth. He is a well-rounded handyman. He is reliable and he does good work. He's dependable and he shows up when he says he's going to. He puts in a full day and we're very happy with his work.
