Paul came the next day after I called.  He was friendly, very accommodating, and professional.  We are very satisfied with the work Bemis did.

VERY positive experience!
The owner of the business came to my home to find out what I wanted done so he could prepare an estimate for me. I told him that I and quot;thinkand quot; I want an upgrade of the house to meet the 2011 National Electrical Code requirements. Right away Mr. Bemis realized that as an average homeowner I didn't really know what I needed if I ever wanted to sell the house. He asked me why I wanted this as it would be very costly. After I told him that I thought it would be required by code, he educated me on what the requirements were and on how to make this house safe without breaking the bank. THIS is where Bemis Electric separated themselves from the rest of the four electrical contractors who gave me a quote: Mr. Bemis didn't just see dollar signs and agreed to sell me anything I asked for, he tried to understand what I really wanted (to make the house as safe as possible) and offered me a solutions that did that without unnecessary work/materials. He was like a good neighbor to me. Thank you Lee!
Then the electricians arrived (exactly on time as promised), and right away I felt at ease with them because of their professionalism. No games, no excuses. Only this: and quot;We're here to do what we told you we'd do. Mind if we get to work now?and quot;
The frosting on the cake: One of the electricians realized that removing my old meter would leave a nasty whole on the side of my house that would have to be covered. As my house is sided with an older aluminum siding, and I don't have spare siding material to use for this sort of patching, I figured I would have to become pretty ingenious in covering up the hole in the siding. The electrician mentioned that his personal house had the very same siding on it and that he'd see if he couldn't find me a piece of spare siding to cover that old whole. I was floored when he showed up the next day with some of his own siding and proceeded to use it to repair the side of my house. I asked him if I may at least reimburse him for the material; he refused.
So, what can I say about the service received? I owe the friend who recommended Bemis Electric a huge favor.

The electrician was professional and pretty good looking, too. Bemis installed a new combination smoke/Carbon monoxide detector that proved defective a couple of months later when it went off at about 9:00 p.m. on a Friday night. We called the fire department who came and checked out house for CO, found none, and told us the CO detector was defective. We contacted Bemis and they replaced it for no charge. It apparently was received outdated from their supplier. Other than that, they've been great. They also instructed me about how to change the code in our remote control ceiling fans so they don't conflict with each other.

It was a one time thing and I am happy with them.
