I performed the most time consuming aspect of the job myself prior to his arrival;i.e. shut down domestic water supply, drained the water from the pipes, drained the water from the hot water heater. Plumber left at one point to get parts and instructed me to turn the water supply line back on, which I did. Once I got back into the house, water was shooting all over our laundry room, because he had not tightened the supply lines to the hot water heater. So I shut the water back off until he arrived. Then this spring when I went to hook up our typical 1/4" supply line to our evaporative cooler, I learned that the shut off valve that he installed was actually a 3/8" connection, so I could not hook it up. When I called him, he stated that he couldn't get back out to make it right for at least a week. So I went shopping for parts and then realized when I got home, that the needed adaptor was sitting in the same small box of parts that I told he his was welcome to use if he needed them. Bottom line is that I ended up making the necessary repairs to correct his error, and he never even checked back with me to apologize or correct it himeself.
