"I have over 43 years in the home construction business with thousands of clients, and this is the ONLY homeowner I’ve ever had to refuse to work with. We serve as a consultant to homeowners who desire to manage a construction project themselves without hiring a general contractor. Our three individual service areas are PROJECT DESIGN, TRADE CONTRACTOR REFERRALS, and CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT. We’ve had nothing but 5-star reviews over the past 10 years. For this client we only provided project planning and design services, we drew plans and got bids for the work. Then things quickly fell apart. It became very evident we could not continue to work with this man, and that I needed to protect myself and my employee from his tongue. Life is too short to put up with verbal abuse. My signed agreement with clients states clearly that either party can terminate at any time since we my company is only ASSISTING the homeowner who is acting as his own general contractor. This homeowner is himself a professional construction manager, HE DECIDED to manage the entire construction phase of the work completely on his own WITH HIS OWN TRADE CONTRACTORS DOING THE WORK. Any delay over the 4+ months while this man managed the entire project himself with his own trade contractors is not the fault of my company I see in his review a most egregious false claim about kick-backs. As a construction manager himself, he knew using those words would be the best way to hurt me. As mentioned above, part of our services are trade contractor referrals. I did give this man a short list of names of trade contractors. “Referral fees” are sometimes paid to a person that provides a lead for new work. Please look at all our 5 Star reviews on Google and ignore this homeowner’s baseless and very hurtful false accusations. A note, we do not get our clients from Angie's List, which is why we do not have any reviews here. The jobs we do are larger, such as basement finishes, room additions, and new custom homes"
