Description of Work: Designed and built an arbor over my deck which spans 28 feet. Simple design, but the span made it a bit more complicated.

Description of Work: *I chose KJ Woodworks to repair my deck over the other bidders because he offered me different solutions to my problems. by removing the landing half way down the stairs and doing a straight shot he saved me money and it looks great. The crew he sent out were professional and explain to me the materials they were using.

 + -1 moreIt was a slow project but that was because of the magnitude of it. It took several weeks of looking at materials and designs, then securing the materials, etc. There were a few short delays during the project due to prior commitments Keith had but we had understood this going into the project and none of these were prolonged. Communication was the key and we had good communication both with Keith and his supervisor on the job who did an excellent job of explaining issues to us, asking our opinion and decisions and working with us. The project went very well for a complicated deck. Last fall we noted some discoloration in a few of the planks of the deck. Keith has been very responsive in bringing out a representative of the company to determine the cause and solution. This is appreciated since it doesn't always work this way but we feel we have a great relationship with Keith and appreciate his still "being there" to resolve any manufacturer's issues.
Description of Work: The 750 square foot deck on the back of the house had been severely damaged by the major storm of 2009. We selected Keith to replace the old deck and replace the wooden deck with composite. This was a major job, taking over a month, and we were very pleased with the finished deck. Keith suggested a new design for the deck which we like much better than the original design and he helped us select an excellent composite. He assisted us in working with the insurance company, supplying all the paperwork and information needed. The new deck is well built and beautiful. We are very pleased!

 + -1 moreKJ Woodworks fixed all of the structural issues and developed a design for railings and surfaces that resulted in a very handsome deck and porch--both look more expensive than they are. KJ suggested a picket design for my deck that I would not have thought of. It really looks great!
Description of Work: Fix and enhance a deck and a porch. Both had design and structural issues, and I wanted surfaces and railings that would hold up to weather in CO without any stain or paint.
