Six weeks before our move I went into Alpine Motors to buy boxes and reserve a truck. A week and a half before our move date I called Alpine Motors to check that our reservation was still in the computer and simply make sure all was okay with the agreement. Upon asking if there was anything more I needed to do the man whom answered the phone said, "You're calling too early." I simply stated that I wanted to make sure we were in the computer as I was well aware many people must want trucks at the end of a summer month. He replied with, "You're calling too early. You are in the computer." Surprised, I said, "But you do not know my name." Again he stated "I know that you are there. It is all fine." So I said in a friendly, joking voice, "Thanks, and I will be sure to pass on that you also had very friendly customer service." His reply: "I could care less."
