Jackson Automotive had my car for two and a half weeks, in which time I thought they were working on it. I went in after a week to see what was going on with my Jeep because I hadn?t heard from them at all, and was told that my rear differential was just making
noise and that there was no damage being done to it. I was told that they could try replacing it to see if that would stop the noise, but it was expensive and could still make the same noise. I decided not to have them do the replacement, because I was
explicitly told that THERE WAS NO DAMAGE, and that Jackson had gone over it time and time again to make sure.
I left the Jeep there again to see if they could find what was going on with the transmission. Another week and a half goes by without hearing from them at all, and by this time, I needed my car back. I went in and was told that they couldn?t get the Jeep to give them the same warning, even after driving it all over, from Fountain to northern Colorado Springs, but couldn?t get the car to replicate what I said it was doing. It almost sounded like they didn?t believe me when I said that it was telling me the transmission was overheating, and didn?t bother to check any potential causes. As for the leak, it seemed like it was ignored, because I asked about it, and just got dismissed. So I had them do an oil change at least, and took my car home, thinking it was ok to drive around in it.
Fast forward to two months later, my transmission starts going out while I?m driving, shifting into park while driving down the road. After having the car gone for almost three weeks the last time I went to Jackson, I decided to take it to my parent?s
mechanic. In three hours, they were able to determine that the transmission was beyond repair and would have to be replaced, and they found extensive damage to the rear differential. They also found that the transmission cooler pump had gone bad, and that?s the leak I was seeing. Funnily enough, they told me if I didn?t get that fixed, my transmission would go out again.
In other words, if Jackson Automotive had done the extensive diagnostics and looking that they said they did, the bad
transmission cooler pump should have been found, and my transmission might have been saved. I trusted Jackson
Automotive before, but after replacing two major parts that I had specifically asked them to check, I will not be using them again.
