We had an excellent painter, excellent. Another contractor is Bill Rogers Construction. He is a great one. That was probably 3 years ago, probably 4. He was very reasonable. I was in a meeting in the mean time and they said he was wonderful also. He was not the cheapest but we never regretted going with him. There was a shower that needed a lot of work. The people who lived here before us had put in a Radon Mitigation system that was inaccessible. They had put in a Radon Mitigation System and then they had built shelves and cabinets right on top of where the access needed to be. He did a beautiful job. He had to be clever to do it because nobody could figure out, without ruining this built in shelving cabinet, how to get back to the Radon Mitigation System and also the sump pump was down there. We had to have access to the sump pump, so he figured out a way how to do it. I think he is extremely intelligent and clever. He listens very carefully and he can figure out solutions to problems. He is very picky about his work. The base boards and the borings that he put in after the floor was in, some parts of the floor were uneven, so to make the top of the mould straight he had to carve out the bottom of the mould fit everything on the floor. He just left the bottom at that and that was perfect. He was not the cheapest. The quality was perfect.

I watched the work done and Bill did a great job removing the old windows and in getting the new windows stained. The install went great with Bill taking excellent care of framing the windows in place and insuring they were level. The same went for two doors that Bill installed too. It really looked like the kind of quality ones sees on the show This Old House. He cleaned up afterwards and was always wanted to make sure we were happy with the results.

The building process was terrific. Bill was on time and cleaned up after work every day. He requested a dumpster and had it placed in the street so that our driveway was not damaged. The process of building the deck was a treat to watch. As engineer I could see the steps he took to plumb the placement of the concrete piers and the spacing of the supports for the deck. He obtained permits for the work and had the process signed off by the city. The steps he took to prevent the railing from rotting with the design of using trek wood to cap the rails and posts were a creative design.

I am already planning new projects to have done by him.
