First thing we did was remove and replace the decking in three phases. We looked at several different options and decided on using Ever Green Composite Decking. Next we removed and replaced all the windows. Each window opening had to have a custom cut, being it is of log construction, trimmed out on both the outside and inside. Ray suggested we use the same composite material for the outside trim and that way it will never have to be painted again. So, we did just that. Looks great. We added outside electrical outlets and then move to the inside. On the inside we added knotty pine tongue and groove (t&g) beetle-kill board paneling. Next we added laminated flooring in the living, dinning and hallway areas. Now we a waiting for the flooring for the kitchen and bathroom and the kitchen cabinets to arrive.
Description of Work: I have a log home in Estes Park, Colorado, that I have owned for almost 40 years. I lived in this home for just 5 years and the rest of the time it was a rental. As a rental I just kept it in repair and did nothing to improve it. Finally, this year I decided to do a major update on the home, i.e., replace the decks, replace the windows, add new t&g paneling, flooring and kitchen cabinets, etc. About five years ago I used Ray to finish my basement and I was totally please with the results. So, I called Ray again and asked if would be interested in taking this project on and he said he would. Even though the project isn't finished yet I am again totally please with everything Ray has done to move us toward completion. Ray can fix just about anything and he will make suggestions that often times may be better than my thought/ideas and often times will save money without cutting corners. Anyone who uses Ray will not be disappointed with his work and price.
