When Russ arrived at our house for the scheduled time, he informed us that he had double booked and would have to leave to go to substitute teacher training and then come back and finish the job. He also hadn't bought the paint yet. He didn't offer any apologies about this inconvenience, but said he could come back tomorrow if he didn't finish. I had taken the day off of work to be there and my husband arranged to work at home, and it was a big inconvenience to have to have him come back a second day. Russ didn't finish the job that day so my husband had to re-arrange his work schedule to be home the next day as well.
When Russ arrived the second day, he said he left his supplies in his garage (his paint rollers, etc) so he had to leave to go get them. He then applied a second coat of pain to the wall, and a first coat to the door frames (he had applied primer to the frames the day before). Once he was done he told my husband he was leaving and my husband asked him if he planned to do a second coat of paint to the door frames, which clearly needed it. Russ said the paint would thicken as it dried but if he needed to come back to do another coat he would. It was clear they needed another coat, and not only that my husband had to go around with a paint brush to smooth out all of the drips that were on the door frames.
When I got home and saw the frames I was very frustrated that they weren't done and that Russ would have to come back a 3rd day. My husband called and left 2 messages and when we didn't hear back I also called Russ. Russ finally called back and said he had left his phone at his parent's house. He also told us that he couldn't come back for several days to finish.
When the job was FINALLY done a week later, he left small splatter marks all over our wood floors and our counters. Also there were several other places that needed to be touched up (drip marks, another coat added, etc). I've used a few professional painters in the past and they both did top-notch work. The only reason I didn't hire one of them was because I initially liked Russ and the Living Social deal was a good one. Unfortunately you get what you pay for.
reach out to Russ at Paragon Painting to help with our small bathroom.
Paragon Painting was able to schedule a day and time that worked in my
busy schedule. Russ was also able to schedule a time that I would not be having
clients in and out of the shop. We have a small bathroom and we took our time
picking out the right color we wanted.
Russ and team came in on time completed the job with professionalism and
showed us why we never want to paint ourselves again.
