I bought a Living Social deal, but before doing so I called and spoke with Russ to get a feel for his personality and I also checked Angie's List for reviews. Russ made a good impression and Paragon Painting had good ratings so we decided to purchase the deal.

When Russ arrived at our house for the scheduled time, he informed us that he had double booked and would have to leave to go to substitute teacher training and then come back and finish the job. He also hadn't bought the paint yet. He didn't offer any apologies about this inconvenience, but said he could come back tomorrow if he didn't finish. I had taken the day off of work to be there and my husband arranged to work at home, and it was a big inconvenience to have to have him come back a second day. Russ didn't finish the job that day so my husband had to re-arrange his work schedule to be home the next day as well.

When Russ arrived the second day, he said he left his supplies in his garage (his paint rollers, etc) so he had to leave to go get them. He then applied a second coat of pain to the wall, and a first coat to the door frames (he had applied primer to the frames the day before). Once he was done he told my husband he was leaving and my husband asked him if he planned to do a second coat of paint to the door frames, which clearly needed it. Russ said the paint would thicken as it dried but if he needed to come back to do another coat he would. It was clear they needed another coat, and not only that my husband had to go around with a paint brush to smooth out all of the drips that were on the door frames.

When I got home and saw the frames I was very frustrated that they weren't done and that Russ would have to come back a 3rd day. My husband called and left 2 messages and when we didn't hear back I also called Russ. Russ finally called back and said he had left his phone at his parent's house. He also told us that he couldn't come back for several days to finish.

When the job was FINALLY done a week later, he left small splatter marks all over our wood floors and our counters. Also there were several other places that needed to be touched up (drip marks, another coat added, etc). I've used a few professional painters in the past and they both did top-notch work. The only reason I didn't hire one of them was because I initially liked Russ and the Living Social deal was a good one. Unfortunately you get what you pay for.

Russ came out and estimated our painting job then we patient while we scheduled other contractors in and out being flexible and willing to work with us. We chose a light high gloss color which can be tricky to get right. The entire job, including the 12 foot vertical walls and the ceiling were rolled not sprayed so we got a great finished. We have ceiling lighting with trim around them which then went up and hand primed, sanded and painted. The space looks great, there was no mess and the edges are clean. It was so refreshing to go out and not have to worry about cleaning up any sort of mess. He also left us plenty of touch up paint and then followed up to make sure we were completely satisfied with the work that was done. We will use Paragon Painting when we repaint the exterior of our home even though they were not the lowest bid based on the quality and service we saw on this project!

We are do it you self people however when having the opportunity to
reach out to Russ at Paragon Painting to help with our small bathroom.
Paragon Painting was able to schedule a day and time that worked in my
busy schedule. Russ was also able to schedule a time that I would not be having
clients in and out of the shop. We have a small bathroom and we took our time
picking out the right color we wanted.
Russ and team came in on time completed the job with professionalism and
showed us why we never want to paint ourselves again.

I meet with Russ from Paragon Painting initially to get a bid on the trim work on the outside of my house. I got the bid from him and scheduled for him to do the work. He got to my house on time and went right to work I was not home at the time my husband was. When I got home I looked at the work that he had done and it was great he even painted the trim on the dog house so it would match the trim on the house and garage. I would recommend Paragon Painting and will use them again when I paint my interior and exterior of my home.

When Russ (the owner) came to do the work on the house he did a perfect job. He even painted the trim on the dog house so that it would match the house. I will always use Paragon Painting for any of my painting needs.

They were fantastic. I called on Tuesday and they scheduled me for a time I needed 2 days later. Unheard of for painters, usually. They came out and gave a very fair estimate for the amount of work I needed done. Because they were painting a ceiling, they went out of their way to protect the work area and when they were done the smell of paint was the only way you would have know they had been there. Complicating it more, it was my customer's home, not my own. It's extremely nerve racking to hire someone and hope they treat your client like you would treat them. Not only will I use them as my only painter from now on, my client asked for their information, too. They just created 2 loyal customers.
