Consumer Beware!!  After interviewing several companies, Merrit's Salesperson assured me that they were qualified experts of Lutron lighting systems, and that they had worked on them before, and that our system was no big deal.  Because of their experience with Lutron, we choose them to do the work.  Well the project started out well until they took the Lutron expert off our job after the first week and put him on another job.  Then they had a guy come from their south office (2 1/2 hours one way) to work a total of 2 to 4 hours per day, then he left.  He complained the entire time and even got angry and in my face one day when he ran a cable backwords and out the wrong place.  He just told me that it just wouldn't work period (strangely working wonderfully now that we had someone else run it the correct direction and out the correct spot) and when I asked him to please call and talk to my husband he refused to speak with him.  They wouldn't replace the $500.00 cable that was run incorrectly.  Needless to say, the job went on and on and on and on and never did get it finished until we brought in someone else.

  The gentleman they brought from their south location didn't understand the Lutron system.  Instead of working on the Lutron systym, he started doing the simple wiring jobs that our building contractors were hired to do for way less. They never brought up enough materials, so for instance, rather than put up all the new fire alarms, when they ran out they just reinstalled the old ones.  So we had to bring in another company to take out the old ones that shouldn't have been reinstalled and reinstall the NEW ones costing us double.  Having lost a home to fire, they knew how important this was to us.  They blew out several hundred new LED lights after turning them on before they were hooked up to the correct 24 Volt transformer.  They have never offered to replace the bulbs or the mis-run cable, show us the records of the hours worked by there employees while they were there, or any other form of communication.  My husband tried several times to negotiate the bill, we even tried calling the owner who never even called us back, instead they put a lean on our home for $30,000.00.
