Kirk Fondy: Remodeling Contractor

This is project #3 for our family with Kirk. We completely trust his pricing and his quality of work, and our 3rd project with Kirk was no exception. We absolutely love how the basement bathroom turned out! The original bathroom had an old vanity, bad lighting, yucky tub, etc. Kirk installed a new tub, beautiful tile above the tub in the shower, tore out the old vanity and replaced with a new vanity. It looks so awesome. He even worked with me on tiny details like the perfect placement of towel rods, medicine cabinet, and light fixtures. The bathroom turned out amazing! We will definitely use him again and highly recommend him!

This is our 4th time to work with Kirk, and once again we are super happy with the results. Kirk installed tile floor, backsplash, new cabinets, and oversaw the installation of new countertops in our laundry room. He had a great idea to add a small sink. I would not have thought to do this but it turned out awesome! Kirk communicates throughout the various phases of the project to help you to know where the project is at and what next step is needed. He is very professional and does excellent work, every time. We highly recommend him!!

If you want perfection from every step, every angle, Kirk is your guy. Here's our story as it unfolded.
Started with AngiesList, with the goal of securing 3 quotes. Of those 3, Kirk was the most expensive, not far off from the 2nd but enough for consideration. There was something about Kirk above the others though, out of the gate he was responsive, kept his appointments and promises to deliver estimate, and seemed like a seasoned pro. While budget was certainly a factor in our project, having the work done properly was our number 1 concern. After review, we choose Kir for our small, but highly detailed, bathroom remodel project. It was the right decision.
Kirk is an absolute perfectionist in everything he does. From his wickedly organized work area in our garage, to end of day cleanups never missed, Kirk treated this remodel like it was his own house. He is a master with tile, which worked out great for us as our classic white subway w/ black inlay tile meets old school hex flooring requires both patience and skill. From start to finish, Kirk worked directly with us as we moved along, and guided us through any "surprises" as is the case for a remodel project in an older home. He hit the budget perfectly, and allowed us to source our own tiles and such since we had specific pieces in mind. 
In the end, we have the bathroom of our dreams. Would I recommend Kirk, you bet. He is the contractor you want in your toolbox, if a remodel project comes up there is simply no other contractor I would consider.

Kirk is a perfectionist and soooo detail-oriented. He always kept us up to date about what was going to be done next, who would be here to do it, what supplies or fixtures or appliances had to be on site and when. He even told us what the other contractors needed to be aware of or look out for if he couldn't be here those times. He was very respectful of our house and property protecting other parts of the house or surfaces that were in place, cleaned up the job site at the end of every day so equipment wouldn't be in the way. He even made allowances for our dog when we couldn't be there. Being without a kitchen for several months is stressful, but with Kirk we knew it would be worth it because everything was done RIGHT. He encountered some issues which could not have been foreseen and worked on finding solutions so the project was seamless and flawless.

I gave Kirk free rein to remodel my master bathroom, including the design. He fully explained every step, and advised on details. He was very aware of my desire to keep costs down, and the reasons for the remodel. He did a wonderful job and I am more than pleased with the outcome. Plus, he may be the neatest contractor with whom I have ever worked, for he cleaned up at the end of each day. He is a nice guy, too. Glad that I picked him from Angie's for this job.

Kirk was a fabulous professional and gave us our money's worth. Appreciated his communication around unexpected issues and his attention to detail. This guy knows his stuff! I would definitely use him again.

Very positive experience using Kirk for our kitchen remodel.  Our kitchen had not been updated since 1980.  We had a tentative date to start on 9/20, but he had an exterior job that he had to finish and pushed our start date to 10/21.  However, once he got started he really stayed on task and put in some serious hours to finish the project before our deadline of Thanksgiving. 
We had a kitchen with a wall separating our family room from the kitchen.  He tore out the wall, moved the cabinets that were at the base of the wall into the kitchen 3 feet.  Then he moved the A/C intake from the wall to the new island.  He then scraped the popcorn texture off of about 600 square feet of dining room, living room, entry way and hall ceilings.  Re-textured, painted and patched the ceilings so they look constant throughout the great room.  Then he rearranged the cabinets to make our dishwasher work on the right side of the sink (it was incorrectly installed on the left side when built).  He was there when the granite counter-tops were installed to make sure it all went perfect.  Then he installed an awesome back-splash in our kitchen, and laid Mexican brown tile in the kitchen floors, which was tough but he made a perfect seam along our current wood floors. 
It looks amazing!  He was so courteous and professional.  We have a 6 year old and 2 year old twin boys, so he was always very cautious not to have nails and other dangerous items laying about.  He also was very mindful about keeping our kitchen functional over the month long process.  Even with all that we did we were only out of our kitchen for about 4 days.  Really great.
I would highly recommend him for your remodel work.  We have been so pleased.  He was also very fair on price and the quality that we got for the cost was hard to beat. 
He can do it all.  Electrical, plumbing, A/C work, duct work, and just about anything you can imagine.
We have a shower we want to remodel and I would use Kirk again in a heartbeat for that project.
Overall, I give him an A+.  Only reason it would not be an A++ is because he had to start late due to his project he was working on before ours.

Overall a very positive experience from start to finish.  Kirk told us how the remodeling would cost right at the beginning and stuck to it. He is very easy to work with.

Kirk did a complete remodel of our kitchen. He did an amazing job from designing to completion. He is very thorough and meticulous. Great quality of work. We used him before also to remodel a house and same comments extremely good work from beginning to end.

I really appreciated Kirk's attention to detail in building a full bath.  I'm more than happy with the finished product and would highly recommend Kirk to anyone.

Kirk was great to work with. He spent almost as much time with me planning the project as he did performing the work. He definitely understands building construction. The work was done on time and exceeded my expectations. Kirk is a true professional.

This job went very well from start to finish. Because there were several different aspects of this job the timing and logistics were very important and Kirk managed to get everything scheduled and coordinated. The Job started with us. Kirk recommended different suppliers for the materials that would be needed throughout the job and when we would need to have our decisions made so there was no stress for time with the material. Once the new kitchen countertops had been fabricated the job started in earnest. Kirk came in a couple of days before to prepare for the work. He brought in his tools and set up a place to work from in our garage. The flooring in our house was protected throughout the job with meticulously placed stick on carpet protection and paper on the hard surfaces and counters. He was there when the countertops were installed by the granite folks to make sure all the details of the following work would go smoothly. The new venting for the over the stove vent hood was difficult but he was able to make it work great. There was a problem with our dishwasher leaking when it was moved for the new countertops and Kirk went above and beyond to solve the issue (gross!!) and it works better than new. Then the tile for the kitchen and bathrooms was done with perfection with no issues and it is all lovely. For grouting of all the tile Kirk uses only epoxy grout no latex. BIG DIFFERENCE. Latex is pourous (not so good if water is aroung) epoxy is non-pourous ( will last forever). We also replaced our entry door and it looks beautiful.
