+ -1 moreHe examined the machine while I waited and found that it needed a new part which they don't make anymore. I knew this would happen sooner or later so I wasn't surprised. He sold me a new machine that was basic to my needs and gave me a discount in trade for my old machine. I was very satisfied.
Description of Work: Sewing machine stopped working - hoping it could be fixed even though it was at least 40 years old.

Description of Work: They returned my machine with oily black fingerprints on it as well as their i.d. sticker that was difficult to remove. I haven't even tried to remove their sticker from my vintage case. The service was prompt and the machine is running well.

+ -1 moreGreat. They told us that the machine was not worth the repair but would give us trade. We took it to others who told us that the repairs would be costly (more than Jand M) so we decided to get a new machine. They took ours in "trade" and gave us a great deal on a similar machine.

My machine needed more than I thought, but when I described what was wrong he knew exactly what was wrong and quoted the price and stuck with it. He fixed the machine and it has worked beautifully since.

+ -1 moreAfter calling a few shops, I decided to drop off my Singer 457 Specialist to Jerry for servicing. I inherited this sewing machine recently from my Mother In Law's passing and it sat dormant in her closet, in it's cabinet for 30+ years. It looks in great shape but I know dust and grease can cause damage. Jerry knew a lot about Singer machines having been a Singer salesman. The shop was very busy and folks from Utah came in for their service and someone from Wyoming for parts.
Description of Work: A full service checking belts, knobs, moving parts & motor, anywhere dust can sit or gather. The rough estimate is $90.00 for servicing and visually a couple knobs needed replacing and the foot peddle cover is cracked and broken and they will try to replace it. We shall see how well they do and if punctually they are within the 7 - 10 day time estimate.
