INSIDE & OUT PAINTING

They were very responsive and eager to start. Prep the first day, spray 2 coats on the body the second day. Unfortunately we had to stop at this point to iron out the color choice with our HOA!!!! The company offered and we received a 1 hour free session with a color consultant, but the HOA agreed to the color scheme with some minor changes. Once this was sorted out then work got underway for another 2 days on the trim and the windows. I had to remind them of their commitment to the garden shed several times. After they were done, I went around and inspected their work. I am reasonably particular about what I do for myself, but this was not done with any attention to detail. I came up with a list of over 50 items, of which only about one quarter were addressed. There are two main complaints that I have. 1) Attention to detail - taping was not done well, tape was not all removed afterwards, some parts of the body have not been adequately covered with one coat, let-alone 2 coats, paint and residual gum from the tape on windows was not removed, the sliding windows were not removed for painting so that some hidden parts of the windows were not painted, and the windows were painted shut in some instances. 2) Things they said that they would do but didn't. - The windows were not adequately scraped and sanded and the cracks in the old paint were still visible, the caulking was not completed, the owner had pointed out to me some cracks appearing in the bottom edges of the siding that was to be primed and sealed before painting, of which I would estimate 80% of the cracks were still visible. I have spent several partial days correcting these issues myself so far.
