"Thank you so much [Member Name Removed]! It was a pleasure working with you!"
The price was as quoted, they deducted some $$$ at the end as they didn't need to use all the tubing.
They showed up at the agreed-upon time and the work was done in slightly less time than they projected.
It is only hours after they finished, but the installation and the product seem to be quality, no issues and we are getting the light we wanted, the way we wanted, in the areas we wanted.
I downgraded slightly on professionalism for two reasons:
1)They did not fully clean up the dust and debris from cutting holes in the ceiling sheetrrock. I had to dust furniture, countertops and sweep the floor. They also left one of their metal hanger tools in the grass in our front yard, I went to mow the yard and didn't see it in the grass and it got caught up in the mower, thankfully no damage or harm. Bottom line - they were messier and not as attentive to clean-up as we would have liked.
2)They seemed "rushed". I know it has been rainy all month to where they may be behind on jobs, but just seemed rushed and maybe lacking a little bit of warm fuzzies in their interpersonal approach...was very different when they came to do the estimate and I am sure # 2 contributed to # 1.
All said, at this point we are happy with the product, installation, result. Can't compare the price as their are not too many people who do this, but it seemed fair for the result.
The company scheduled the work to coincide with the installation of some canned lights in the ceiling, which was advantageous because there is not attic access in that part of the house. The installer worked quickly, professionally, and accommodated the work of the electrician from the other company.
Our sun tunnels make a huge difference in the light in our northeast facing office. Actually, during the first few days after installation, we both kept wanting to get up and turn the lights off to save electricity, although there were no lights on -- it was just the light from the sun tunnels!
I think these sun tunnels, installed in this type of environment (a north-facing room), would be excellent in an Artist's studio. The light is uniform and diffuse.
It hasn't been very long, but we have had a few heavy rains, and there has been no evidence of leakage.
I do feel like the cost was substantial, but for a room in which we spend so much time, and the quick and expert installation, it is worth it. I am looking forward to the light these will provide in the winter, in particular.
