I've been using Friesen's for a few years now.
I knew they were legit when Brakes Plus told me I needed: A new tie rod, new wheel bearings, and new brakes, costing over 1500.
I took it to Friesen's for a second opinion, they said I only needed a right wheel bearing, which was $300.
They could have lied or said they'd do it for less but they're straight forward.
Every item I've had repaired here is fixed, and that's it, no further issues.
What stinks is they're expensive. Labor often costs more than the parts. But they do excellent work and they do it right.
So, try to do what you can on your own :), but they're legit and will fix you correctly the first time. I gave a B for price... but you really do get what you pay for in this case.

It is described above. I was refunded money for work but it cost me way more than that to fix what they broke.

As a single woman, I have had my share of "being taken in" by other repair shops. Finally, I have found a place that I can trust. I have a 2000 Honda Ody and 1989 Dodge B250 van (camper) and been very satisfy with Friesen's workmanship and cost.. Service is performed promptly and efficiently. In addition, they follow up with you in about week after the service (that's what I call standing behind their work). I can't believe how smooth my vehicles are running especially the 89 van. I do recommend them to my friends and co-workers and I have no reasons to go anywhere else.
PS: I started going to them in September of 2011 for my 89 van after another place had worked it. I did not write a review until I knew their work would "hold it" and my vehicles continue to perform well after the work

Their estimate was significantly lower than the dealer and another independent mechanic. They were great to deal with and finished the work on time. They even called a week later to see how the car was running (it is running great). I will take my car only to them in the future as long as the work they did holds together. I would definitely recommend putting them on your list to get quotes from.
