I had used this company for several years until I finally gave up.  Once service is established, they are pretty good.  However, the problem is communication.  They rarely answer the phone or return messages.  They send a letter every year with their recommendations and you can pay in advance.  They offer a discount if paid before a certain date, but could never get ahold of them to give them a credit card number, so always sent a check.  They also could never get the spelling of my name right, so I ended up with two accounts.  Generally, I found their office unprofessional and not worth the hassle.

They seem to know what they were talking about and they understood the diseases of the trees and they had a complete understanding of when we should treat the trees. The worst part was that it was hard to get a hold of them to come out. It took like 3 or 4 weeks.

They were the cheapest of the quotes I got for the job. This guy did an amazing job. He was very profession. The quality of the work was extremely high.

I first contacted Fort Collins Tree Service in mid-March for an estimate. When I hadn't heard from them by the second week in April I called to ask about the status. At that time I was told that the company was very busy due to a destructive snowstorm.
On April 14 I received an estimate. I accepted the estimate April 15.
By the end of May, I still had not heard from the company to schedule the trimming. I called again. At that time I was told that I was and quot;on the schedule for next week.and quot;
Two-and-a-half weeks later, my trees still had not been trimmed. I sent a scathing e-mail, saying that I had been patient because the company was highly recommended, but that if I did not hear from them I would be forced to take my business elsewhere.
Two days later I received a message stating that they would be doing the agreed upon work the following business day.
When the team came to do the trimming, they were punctual and efficient, and did a good job. But it wasn't worth the wait.

Called the office for an estimate and they delivered in a couple days. Assessed my trees and suggested some optional care be taken. When I agreed to have service provided they were fast and thorough. Overall I am very satisfied.

It turned out great. They are awesome. They are very professional and very knowledgeable. I can't say enough about them. They seem to really know a lot about trees. They are very trustworthy. They clean up well and don't leave anything. I don't even know how they did the work but they did it. I feel like I can send them on a job and not worry at all since they are going to do a good job. Their prices are high, but then, everybody is.

The initial meeting went great. The rep was extremely knowlegeable about all aspects of tree care. He was also willing to stand in our yard and talk to us about trees until we'd had enough. He told us exactly what to expect regarding the trees that were attacked, such as when next year we will know for sure if the trees are going to survive. Looking forward to their next visit when spraying time comes.

Well, after our first meeting, things went downhill from there. We had scheduled a date for spraying, but we later changed the date so we could be there for the spraying. We also eliminated 4 trees from those to be sprayed, since we had decided to take them out. We were all set to spray the remaining trees on the new date when we came home and saw the spray truck driving off. We knew they were not supposed to come on this date, so we were concerned that they had not done what we asked. Apparently, the owner had lost contact with his other people and they proceeded with the original spraying instead of the new plan that we had agreed on. Since we were not present for the spraying, the tech proceeded to spray a pine tree that had bird feeders and bird bathes around it. They all got sprayed too! PLUS, he left our gate open in the back yard. We were lucky to not have lost any dogs because of this.

It seems that the owner, who we had been talking to about this job, neglected to pass on to his scheduling person that we had changed our agreement, so they went ahead and did the original job.

My wife called and talked to the person that schedules their jobs (not the owner) and he tried to argue with her about what had happened. That conversation did not last long.

The owner obviously knows a lot about trees, but his lack of management skills cost him this job. I was sorry to see it turn out this way, because I really liked the owner. I just was not happy with what he did.

Working with this company has been a joy from start to finish. I had many estimates. The owner came out to give the estimate and impressed me with his knowledge and explanations. I needed some extra information after he left and he promptly returned my call (even though we played phone tag for a bit). Once I chose this company, I called and they scheduled the work within a week. When they arrived, they came equiped with a whole team of workers. The owner came out before the work began to share his opinion on work needed. Again, he impressed me with his knowledge and explanations. The crew members were all very knowledgeable and polite. To be honest, I was a little apprehensive having this large of job done. They were really kind and re-assuring to this nervous old lady! And BEST of all....... My trees are beautiful!! I couldn't be happier with this job!

I wasn't home when they came, so I didn't get to see the trees come down. But they came by 1 day after I called to accept their bid. They cut the trees in the morning and ground the stumps in the afternoon. Stumps were there at lunchtime and gone after work.
