The provider offers a free quote on the job so the 2-D drawing cost me $50 and I guess that is a fair price. I had created a 2-D drawing myself so the Auto-Cad drawing was not necessary. Next time I will simply request a free quote on the remodel job and save the $50!

Dan, owner of DPL Construction, arrived on time exactly when he said he would to review the job. He explained in detail what he planned and how he would go about the work. He provided me an estimate the next day. I contacted Dan to accept his bid for the work and explained my time frame for getting the work completed. Dan worked the job into his schedule and completed the work with exceptional quality. He was even able to repair the gate to the fencing that had also been damaged from the water erosion on that side of my house.

Dan Mulder finished our basement in the same style and finish as the original house.  He worked closely with us to design the floor plan and made suggestions on how to create what we wanted at a reasonable cost.  He supervised the construction and all subcontractor work, inspecting and assuring the quality and timeliness of the work.  He pays attention to the details and has a high standard for quality.  We are very pleased with the results and recommend him to others for construction and remodeling work.

Dan was very responsive to my questions about building a pergola.  He paid attention to details and made sure we discussed aspects of the project I had not considered before it even began.  I had a lot of ideas but was not sure of how I wanted certain aspects of the project to look.  He was very good at offering ideas from his experience that I found helpful in making my final decision.  He and his partner were very professional.  Dan told me it would take about a week to complete the project.  They were able to finish it in less time!  The job site was neat and clean.  Despite the terrible winds and cold snap we had, they maintained a positive and upbeat attitude.  Every measurement was perfectly square, which makes the final product look great. Dan is the type of contractor who cares about doing quality work first and foremost. We have really enjoyed the craftsmanship of our new pergola and it's functionality.  It is both attractive and functional.

Dan Mulder is AWESOME!   He was prompt, on budget, great to work with and focused on my project.  I had interviewed six other builder/contractors/handymen for this job but none made me feel comfortable and confident as much as Dan.  Most bids were in the same price ballpark as Dan's so I did not pick him for cost though in the end I got more than my money's worth in quality.  When he told me his work philosophy and background in construction I knew I'd found the right person.  He worked with me on the design and made helpful suggestions.  He obtained the necessary permit from the city.  He was able to work with my timetable.  Once the project began he had all his sub-contractors lined up and ready to go.  Each day there was visible progress.  Dan monitored everything carefully and adjusted anything himself that did not meet his very exacting standards.  He is fanatical about perfection and that certainly was to my advantage.  The project would have been done in his estimated six weeks had the bathroom tile I'd selected not been on backorder.  

Dan and his subs cleaned up at the end of each day and he saw to it that there was no mess in other parts of my house.   Dan kept checking with me to see if I had any concerns or questions and always kept me in the loop about the work and timetable.  He checked with me frequently to make sure the project was shaping up as I envisioned and did not hesitate to make adjustments along with way as I changed my mind on a few things (location of doors, size of the bedroom).  I found him very trustworthy and would absolutely use him again.  Love my new basement!
