When we bought our house in 2010, paint was a priority. There were a few colors in the house that really didn't match our taste, most/all of the rooms had been paint by homeowner(s), and poorly (not enough coats, uneven cut lines, poor masking, etc.). Also, we want to paint the trim and ceiling to brighten up the house and because the ceiling had never been done. After talking about doing it ourselves for a couple years, but not actually doing it, we decided to hire someone to paint the house. We researched several companies online and called three to get a bid. I'm very anal retentive, and was tired of noticing all of the places where the wall paint was on the ceiling because a previous painter didn't know how to cut a line or mask properly, so finding a painter to do a quality job was my highest priority. I didn't want to hire a company that turned around and hired college students with no experience to paint my house. Not only was Diamond Custom's quote the lowest of the few I received, they were the only ones that made me feel like I could trust that it would be done very well while. My inclination was correct -- Diamond did a great job. They estimated 3-4 days to complete the job, and ended up using all four. Again, I had my ceiling, walls and trim painted in my entire house. Diamond move all of my furniture in all of my rooms, masked everything very well and painted the entire house. They calked all of joints, and the job couldn't have looked more professional. A couple small touchup spots were missed -- which they mentioned always happens and to give them a call to come back as I notice stuff. I didn't take them up on their offer and instead touched up the few spots myself, but it showed Diamond's commitment to doing a high-quality, complete job. One of the painters even mentioned how he enjoys working for Diamond Custom because the owner wants his employees to take the time to do a good job vs. rushing them through every job. I'll hire Diamond Custom again (I'll need them to do my exterior in a few years) and will recommend them to anyone needing a quality painter.

The estimate was prompt and clearly presented. They pointed out a need for some repairs I had not noticed. In a follow-up conversation, we deleted that area from the job and agreed on a price to go forward when good weather allowed in the spring. I told them we had a deadline of the end of May.
When the weather improved, they brought color samples by and indicated they would start in a week. About 10 days later, they came and did about a half day of prep work and then didn't come back for another week. The weather was a bit off and I guessed they needed to finish up somewhere else. Then, just as it seemed about time to ask them when they would show up, they came with a crew of about 8 and finished the scraping, caulking and priming in one day, talked to us about the color and painted a sample area. They came back and finished painting in the next day and a half, coming by on Saturday morning for a walk-around to touch up any areas we were concerned about. They did a combination of spraying and brushing, at least two coats on everything.
I was pleased that they got it done quickly once it started. We were not inconvenienced by being wrapped in plastic for days like some homes. They cleaned up the area reasonably for a job in progress on the one night when work was underway.
We had almost no touch-up in the final inspection and they noticed and fixed things that we didn't see.
The final bill actually came in about $75 less than what I thought we had agreed. When I pointed this out, they said they were happy with the price.
Despite being a little sketchy in the early part of the scheduling, they did better than my deadline by almost 2 months. I would have liked it if they had let me know when they were coming, even to within a day or do, rather than the indefinite start. Having seen how they complete a job quickly once they start, I'm pleased with how it worked out.
The quality of the work appears excellent. They covered and masked everything and we have no overspray or spatters. They were careful of landscaping. We have an old shake roof, and one or two singles came down, but that's probably inevitable if you have to walk on the roof to paint. They left us with several partially used cans of paint that I will use to touch up and paint the repairs I still need to complete.

Jeff was very helpful in chosing colors and even offered valuable suggestions for colors we hadn't considered. He provided references and gave addresses of homes he had painted using colors we were considering. He completed the job in a timely fashion. His crew of painting professionals did outstanding work and took great care in moving outdoor furniture around to accommodate the painting. The cleanup process was thorough and our home was left in its original state after painting. Jeff was easy to communicate with during all phases of the process.
