Heating and Air Conditioning Service
A furnace and air conditioner was installed. Each subsequent year since its installation, there have been major problems with the system. Climatech claimed a five year warranty, but getting them to honor the warranty is a difficult process. The Filter was not installed correctly at the time of installation, causing major problems with the heat exchange unit above the furnace. This required a service call after 4 years of service, that they made every attempt to charge us for. After arguing for a week, they finally did the right thing and repaired the damage caused by an improper installation. Fast forward two years, and the Compressor for the Air Conditioner has failed. This is not even a six year old unit as yet, but the compressor has failed. The representative said he would check the warranty status and call us back the same day of service. No call was placed. The equipment installed is low quality, and Climatech has consistently made repairs against the warranty a struggle, fight and argument. They consistently will not return calls, will not return to finish work as promised, and will leave you high and dry after they've made the initial sale and install. Not reccomended, the price may seem good, but it isn't so innexpensive when you are just going to have to replace the entire unit in less than ten years.

"Time to get the story straight, a furnace and air conditioner was installed. Witch was given a 5 year warranty. With every installation we offer a service agreement that the customer may take advantage of which entitles them to yearly maintenance that is required by the manufacturer. Which was not taken advantage of in this case, if the home owner chooses not to have there system maintained yearly it can void the warranty. The filter was originally installed correctly and when replace by homeowner put back incorrectly. Now regarding the service call after 4 years, if they had regular maintenance as described above on a yearly basis there would have never been an issue to begin with in the first place. Having regular maintenance is like changing the oil in your car. I am sure they wouldn’t drive there car for 4 years with out changing the oil so why would you do that to your furnace and air conditioner. Why shouldn’t a person be charged for fixing there neglected equipment after 4 years. So now if we are fast forwarding two years that would make the system 6 years old, because 4+2=6. If the air conditioner has a 5 year warranty and a person neglects there air conditioner for 6 years it is obviously out of its warranty period. Now saying the equipment is low quality is a reflection on the customer, because we offer 4 different levels from top of the line to industry standard. We finish all work in a timely manner. Again with proper maintenance there is no reason you should have to replace your system in less than ten years. We can not be held accountable for customer neglect."

They made numerous mistakes on the installation. They installed the ducting to the outside in the wrong location. Also, the work is ugly. They created leaks to the outside in the process of doing this, making the house less energy efficient. They didn't put the appropriate slope in the ducting, causing water to leak. They made a mess that was not cleaned up. They had to come back 4 times to fix these mistakes, being late each time. Each time it took about twice as long as they estimated. Also, it they seemed to have poor communication between the sales and installation team. Sales threw in an extra thermostat to close the sale, that never was communicated to the installation team. They had to come back yet again to install the new thermostat. It was a nightmare from beginning to end!

Heating and Air Conditioning Service
My furnace quit working on a fairly cool day. I was scheduled to leave town for a few days, so was anxious to get it repaired immediately. I called Climatech and was happy to hear that they could have a tech out the same day. Josh arrived, just as promised. He spent quite a bit of time trouble-shooting the problem. He said that a pressure switch needed replacing. He had to go get it, which he did in a timely manner. He installed the new switch and the furnace is working just fine. He was careful to tell me exactly what it would cost before he went after the part. Because Climatech had checked out my furnace and air conditioner in the spring, they did not charge for a service call, neither did they charge for travel time, but only for the part. Josh was very professional and answered all my questions, including some about the water heater, which he wasn't working on!
