Castorena left unfinished edges in the kitchen, one in particular next to a refrigerator that was visible (oven edges need not always be complete as not visible). They refused to patch when requested, as they said it was and quot;industry standard.and quot; We found another vendor in Fort Collins that said this particular edge was not and quot;industry standardand quot; and patched this for us. (This new vendor also went on to install quartz in our remaining three bathrooms.)
The powder room and laundry room install were completed several months following our kitchen. After completion it was apparent that Castorena installed someone else’s quartz or some lo grade junk that they had sitting around their yard. Our quartz had been sold to someone else. Castorena installed 2cm versus the 3cm we purchased and did not match what was installed in our kitchen, it was a different color and surface texture entirely.
In addition, we purchased enough material so seams would not be visible. Catorena put a seam smack in the middle of the back splash in the powder room. They tried to pass it off as a solid piece of material where usually if seams are going to happen they are agreed upon in advance.
On more than two occasions Castorena called trying to collect funds when we were paid in full, in fact the same day of the install. Twice we emailed proof of payment, as their accounting department could not keep track of our payments.
When we did have questions we had great difficulty reaching somebody to talk to. Lastly, and not sure if this is due to the harsh chemicals that come along with this industry, one worker in particular arrived looking and acting high as a kite.

We had gotten 2 enthusiastic recommendations for Castorena. We have experience in construction and were not into misinformation, guessing, or pressure. Castorena knew their stuff, did not pressure us, offered helpful advice, and best of all, were patient with our timeline (which was not the easiest). They were easy going but also very professional. Communications were timely and stress-free. Their installation team showed up on time, did great work, and left the jobsite in good shape.
We knew that the countertops would be the and quot;showpieceand quot; in our remodel and had budgeted for that. Going with a fabricator/installer rather than through a design store made it slightly less costly.
They had lots of options in natural stone, manmade and semi-natural materials and could honestly discuss the pros and cons of each.
I would absolutely recommend them.
