I listened on the phone before I disconnected and heard Jamie laugh loudly as she hung the phone up. That was rude. Repair tech was unprofessional and unconventional in procedure. Promises were not kept. Misquoted fee. Over charged for labor. I Will not do business again and will tell all that will listen; about my experience with Bob's Appliance Service. I called Bob's Appliance Service on Thursday about a water leak under my refrigerator in a rental. I was unable to get to and inspect myself. The tenants had looked and cleaned water from under it and could not figure out if any more water was coming out. So, I called the closest repair place I found on the web. Bob must pay to be on the top of the list cause he showed up there. (Too bad it does not go by performance/price) I talked to a Shey, he said he was a repairman and stated he would be the one to go out to do the repair. Then he told me he could not get there till Monday afternoon. (Four days show up for a water leak that may or may not be contained) Shey offered no Emergent time schedule at all. (Me expecting to hear one with double the cost) I was pretty sure it was contained so agreed to the four day response. I asked what the diagnostic charge was and he said "Eighty Dollars". I thought that was a reasonable price as I was pretty sure it was a crease/crack in the plastic water line. Simple fix. I confirmed the appointment and told him to call me when he was on his way out to the house as I needed to inform the tenant. I also was going to see if the problem could be resolved by the tenant over the weekend. I asked Shey what the cancelation policy was; he told me as long as he has not arrived to the house, I could cancel with no charge. This was acceptable and I did not worry as he was to call me while on his way. I thanked him and hung up. I did get the Renter to shut the water off to the refrigerator over the weekend. Monday afternoon I get a call from a Triston asking for a $153.38 payment telling me that he could take my card number right then. I asked if he had been to the house or are still there and he said he had left and the fix was completed. I was put a back; I actually verbally stammered, this was a number of misspoken promises and a surprise at the cost of splicing a 5/16" plastic tube of $153.38. Also, I agreed to a diagnostic and gave no authorization for repair. (Expecting a call before arrival and before repair). I asked for an invoice and there was none. (Digital or any other sort) I told Triston to have the office call me to complete our transaction... I received a call from a Jamie on Tuesday afternoon. I asked to have an invoice Emailed to me. After some doing I received one while we were still on the phone. That is when I saw the diagnostic charge - $88.00, 5/16" connector part - $5.00, and labor charge - $60.00. Tax - $.38. I explained I was quoted an 80 diagnostic charge from Shey and gave no authorization to effect repairs. (The renter would have been "OK" with no water coming out of the refrigerator) there was silence on Jamie's end. I continued with explaining: All home repair facilities I have ever Managed and worked with include a deduction or inclusion of diagnostic charge into the labor. Or, if the repair is performed, the diagnostic charge included that labor if below a one hour time span. Silence on Jamie's end. Not to mention; I gave no authority to continue with any repair. I left the silence a float for an uncomfortable amount of time. Then, not being an arguing person, I told Jamie I brought these topics up for her review as I would most likely include them In a review of my experience and.. silence on Jamie's end. I asked if she was ready for my card number and she said "yes"... right away. I gave it to her, completed our transaction and wished her a good day and listened before she hung up the phone..

The repairman, Woody arrived on time and did an awesome job of fixing the washer. The washer's pump was clogged because we had washed several small rugs with rubber backs in it. It took over 2 1/2 hours for the repairman to clean out the pump rather than replace it with a new one, which would have cost a lot more money. I really appreciated his integrity with regards to cleaning the pump rather than getting us to buy a new one. The repairman cleaned up after himself and was very neat. The machine has worked great every since this repair job was completed. I would recommend Bob's Appliance to anyone and will surely use them again. Great customer service!

1. They would not schedule an appointment until they received the parts. 2. Once the parts were received they booked an appointment a week out 3. They only told me what day they would come, not what time. I waited all day for the repair person who showed at 2:30. 4. Repair person had parts, but after disassembling my fridge, he had the wrong parts. 5. I now have to wait until the correct parts arrive and then wait a week and half for the appointment. Meanwhile the fridge barely works...no understanding or compassion about the situation. Just whoops, ordered the wrong parts. Too bad for you.
Response from Bob's Appliance Service
"Member, We are sorry you are unsatisfied with your Bob's experience. Here at Bob's we strive to serve our customers to the best of of our ability. To address your scheduling problems- around the holiday season we are very busy. Due to this, we want to limit the amount of cancellations and therefore do not make appointments until we have the parts in hand at which time we may already be booked for a time. On our schedule we put your first appointment for an afternoon call. If this was not communicated effectively, we sincerely apologize. We normally schedule all of our appointments in either an AM slot which runs from 9-12 or a PM slot 12-5pm. As for the incorrect part, again we apologize for this. This repair fell under a special recall and therefore we had to call the LG technical line to receive the part numbers. Inadvertently we were given the wrong part numbers. Normally we would look up parts, but sometimes when we are contracted by a company for recalled parts we cannot look them up, but rather we must contact the manufacturer as in this case. Again, as we said upon scheduling your second appointment, we apologize for any inconvenience or misunderstandings which occurred during your interaction with Bob's. We hope that you are happy with your fridge now and that you consider us in the future. Thank you and have a nice day."

Excellent service. Repairman arrived at appointed time, quickly diagnosed the problem (in fact, he had the necessary replacement thermostat in his pocket when he arrived), de-iced the freezer coils, replaced the thermostat, re-assembled the panels removed to get at the problem part and restarted the refrigerator, and did this all in about 40 minutes. The refrigerator has worked perfectly since the repair was made.

The repairman showed up on time, identified the problem quickly, had the necessary parts to fix the problem, but in trying to speed up the defrost process the repairman used a hair dryer and melted a hole in the wall of the refrigerator and did not tell us, nor did he patch the hole. When I discovered the hole and called the office to report the problem they said they would contact us after talking to the repairman. When they called back they said the repairman claims he did not melt a hole in the cabinet and therefore they would not repair the damage. This is a company I had used on various occasions for repair of appliances, but this was the first time I was unsatisfied.

On 7/25/2013, Shane, the tech, came out and replaced the water sensor on the dishwasher, and was about to change the fascia when he noticed that their was a dent in the main front panel when he pulled it from the box. We decided to wait to replace the fascias on both the top and front until he could get a new front fascia delivered. Even though he had done some repairs that day, he did not charge for anything at the time. On 8/2/2013, he returned with the new fascia and replaced the white with the stainless. Shane has been out on several occasions. He has been efficient, cooperative and helpful each time. Another thing I like about Bob's service is that they come out when they say they will. They always call when they are on the way. They exhibit good communication, reliability, and reasonable prices for parts and service. Again, I highly recommend them.

Shane, the tech, arrived early in the 12 to 3 pm window. He looked at the clothes washer and with my description of the symptoms was able diagnose the problem: a sheared coupling. Didn't have the part in his truck so he had to go out and get the part. Before he left, he looked at the dishwasher and determined that the dishwasher needed a water sensor. The part was not available so had to be ordered in. While he was working on the dishwasher, I asked him if it was possible to change the color of the front panel to stainless. He said that it could be done and would get me and estimate for the cost of the job. Note: the dishwasher was still usable, so I told him that the repair could wait until the front panel parts arrived. He went out to get the part for the clothes washer and returned at the time he estimated for the retrieving the part. He repaired the washer and charged me only for the repair of the clothes washer.
The next afternoon, Bob's called me back with the estimate for the front panel replacement and the estimated time for the parts to arrive. I accepted the terms and will look forward to working with them again.
I have used Bob's appliance repair for years and time and again they have provided excellent service at a reasonable cost.

While I wasn't thrilled with the 5-hour window, I wouldn't hesistate to call Bob's Appliance in the future.

Service diagnosis call cost me $59. They had to order the switch, got back to me in about a week (this was expected). The removal of the old switch and installation of the new switch took about 20 minutes. The switch cost about $35; however, the labor charge was $100, so I ended up paying about $200 overall. You obviously have to know what you're doing and have the right tools (that's why most people call a repairman), and the technician was both personable and professional, as well as knowledgeable. Just seems like a lot of money for such a small job.

Would probably use them again, as they seem to know what they're doing. Might check around first though, to get some competitive pricing.

The serviceman found two different things that were contributing to the problem. He didn't just tell me what was wrong, but he showed me what was wrong and educated me about how my refrigerator works while he was repairing it. He spoke to me in a way that I could understand but was not condescending at all, which I very much appreciate. He even cleaned out the area under the back cover while he had it off so my refrigerator will work longer and more efficiently. I have used Bob's Appliance in the past and have always had a good experience with this company. They do get busy, and sometimes customer service suffers a bit, but the busy appliance repair shop is usually the one you want to do business with.

They did a very good job as far as I can tell. The price didn't seem unreasonable. They called ahead and gave us a window.

Originally, the dishwasher was completely dead - no power. Being an Electrical Engineer, I troubleshot the problem to a burned out power connection in one of the wire nuts. After cleaning and repairing the electrical connection, I put the dishwasher into a drain mode, but it continued to drain for several minutes. I feared the event that caused the electrical short may have fried some electronics, so I called Bob's Appliance.

My only minor gripe was when I explained the problem and the fix I already performed, the dispatch person on the phone seemed to suggest that I probably made the situation worse by attempting to fix it myself. Uh, no!

My experience when the technician arrived was great. He listened to what I did up until the problem occurred. We verified the stuck drain mode. He eventually got the system back into operation. He then took extra time to show me how to check for other common dishwasher issues while the unit was pulled out and running through a clean cycle. He cleaned the unit and drip pan until I was satisfied. I'd use Bob's again in the future.

They definitely did not give up. They had to come back a couple of times because the manufacturer did not supply them with the right part. It was one those situations where the manufacturer's instruction said that there was one part of a certain thing and ended up with two parts. They were very timely. They showed up on time and had the work done. They did not charge me again for another trip. They are a good company to work with. I would use this company in the future.
