Billy Goat Moving Co

I moved from Fort Collins to Virginia. Billy Goat had a good reputation. Since Billy Goat could not do an out-of-state move, I decided to hire Billy Goat and U-Pack. Billy Goat would load my furniture, boxes, etc. onto a U-Pack Truck. Then U-Pack would transport my belongings to Virginia. When my furniture was unloaded in Virginia, we found the dining room table had been broken beyond repair. The problem was Billy Goat put the dining room table on the floor of the truck, then put heavy boxes on top of the table. Billy Goat could have dissembled the table, or not put heavy boxes on top of it, or both. It gets worse. If Billy Goat had compensated me for the damage, I would have been satisfied, and considered the matter settled. But that is not how Billy Goat chose to handle the situation. I called Billy Goat to report the damage. Brandon answered the phone. Before I even described what was damaged, he blamed the trucking company. In other words, if something was broken, it is never Billy Goat’s fault. Later I send photos of the damage to Billy Goat. Billy Goat still refused to do anything. U-Pack has an outstanding rating at Angie’s List, as well as from other sources. It was not U-Pack’s decision to put the table on the floor of the truck, then several boxes on top of it. Billy Goat made that decision. My experience with Billy Goat is, if they a mistake, they will blame someone else, then run away as fast as they can.

They were excellent! They came very well prepared. They were efficient, quick, polite and clean. They cleaned up everything and didn't damage any thing. I would use them again and recommend them again. They do a minimum of an hour and half and they did well in the time frame estimated. They were very professional. They used mats and carpets to protect the walls. It was very good.

Over-the-phone quote was $500 for about 3 hours with 3 men.  It took exactly 3 hours and invoice was $500.  Handled my furniture and boxes with care.  Cheerful even when they hauled a 4-drawer file cabinet up to 3rd floor only to be told it was supposed to go in the garage.  Cheerful and courteous.  Didn't break anything!  They did NOT pack my boxes but moved everything.  

The initial estimate (via phone) was approximately $1,000. I questioned that estimate, so they came to my house to rework the estimate...it came out nearly the same. Because I was concerned about getting a large heavy armoire down a 2-level stairwell and back up a similar one in the new house and because I also had some large pieces in the basement that needed to be disassembled and moved up a 2-level stairwell - they recommended a crew of 4 guys. I had my doubts that this was necessary for a 2 BR townhouse, but in the end, I was VERY glad they were able to convinced me to go with the 4-man crew. Some of the pieces were heavy and cumbersome and physically taxing. The crew moved all of my stuff without any damage - not dents or scratches! And - they were all really nice guys!

The movers were outstanding.  They carefully handled all items, packed with efficiency, and were polite.  They were the best part of our move from Colorado to Ohio.  They packed so well that not one item was broken or damaged in any way.  Price quoted was actually less than they charged.  A++++

Great experience all  around, from the initial phone conversation to the move itself. Everyone we dealt with was super friendly and professional. The moving crew (Logan, David & Ken) was awesome... they all had a great attitude and a smile on their face throughout the long day, and always seemed to be having fun together. Plus they kept moving and worked hard, careful to get our stuff in the right place in the new house. This was the second time we used Billy Goat, and would do so again in a heartbeat. Very highly recommended.

The guys were great! They were early, but waited on me to meet them, didn't charge extra for that. They loaded our belongings quickly and efficiently and unloaded faster. We even got a second crew free of charge!! Very reasonably priced and would highly recommend! $100/hour for one truck/2 guys; we got the second crew for free as they'd finished a job early.

I cannot say enough good things about this moving experience. (It stood out to me how well it went compared to the same household move in July with disastrous results using Exodus Moving Company. [That review can be seen on this site under and quot;Exodus.]) Re Billy Goat: First, when scheduling the move, the person on the phone was very courteous and professional. He explained the procedures and the cost to me in clear terms. It was so simple to schedule the move, and I understood all the terms well. That was the first good experience. The movers arrived exactly on time on moving day. (And, BTW, Billy Goat's charges start at the time they arrive at, and leave, your home. They do not tack on an extra bogus transportation fee for the time it gets them to get to your home from their site and back - as Exodus does! [Exodus charged me for 45 minutes each way, when the actual drive time is 10 minutes each way! Just another way that Exodus had for scamming their elderly customer!) The Billy Goat movers were very skilled and efficient in handling the move. They were extra careful going through the doorways and overall very careful with my belongings. They moved quickly and professionally, while always being careful. The two movers were courteous and respectful to me the entire day. Exactly the manner in which an elderly lady alone wants to be treated. Billy Goat's prices are very competitive, and in fact are $10.00 less an hour than Exodus. And, besides being less expensive, they also perform a much more professional, efficient job compared to Exodus. The move managed by Billy Goat took THREE HOURS, for which I only had to pay $300.00! (Move was from ranch-style three-berm to a ranch style two-bedroom with some items going in the basement, 10 miles.) Compared to the same move three months earlier, in which Exodus managed to stretch out the move to OVER EIGHT HOURS, and charge me $980. (Move was from a two-story three-bedrm home to a ranch style three-bedrm home, 10 miles.) In comparing the two moves, there is too vast a difference, both in service and in cost. (And it is so very obvious that Exodus took advantage of me all the way, making the move much longer than it should have taken, and padding bogus transportation fees, to charge me an astronomical fee. This is a clear case of taking advantage of a 71 year old woman alone.) I heartily recommend Billy Goat. They are competitive in pricing (and less than some others), courteous and professional on the phone, dependable, reliable, efficient, skilled in moving, and courteous to the customer.

These folks are great. They moved enough boxes and furniture to fill a 10 x 26 storage unit almost full. They were very careful with all of our furniture and possessions. My nephew recommended them as he had just had a great experience with them two weeks earlier. I will use them again when I finish my move.

I was very impressed with this company and the employees. They were friendly, accommodating, and very responsive in their communication with me during scheduling (and I made quite a few changes). They showed up right on time after letting us know when they were on the way. The two guys that helped us move were friendly, polite, efficient, and knowledgeable. They worked very hard to get all of our stuff moved as quickly as possible, being ever so patient with us when we were still trying to pack the boxes to be moved last minute. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who is looking for moving services.

I called the company about a month ago to hear about their service. Since I did not know exactly when I needed their service, I ended up calling them a couple of times to get information about them, get some estimate of the moving, and set up an appointment on certain day. Every single time, someone else answered my phone but all of them were very polite and informative.
Two gentleman appeared at an apartment on time, loaded everything into their truck, and unloaded everything at a house. I had used a different mover when I moved into this apartment. The mover sent me two teenagers who jammed my leather sofa at the entrance door resulting several large scratches on both side of my sofa . So I warned the billy goats movers about it. They took my word for it and planned it accordingly. When they tried to go through the door, my sofa was moved from inside of my apartment to outside without touching anything at all. I asked them how they did this, and they said, this is a typical way of moving sofa through a door, and noting special. They just know what they are doing. We were even wondering how the other kids could jam this in the door frame...
Everything came to a new location without being scratched at all within two hours. They were very nice and respectful to each other and worked very well as a team. It was such a great experience to get a help from such nice people.

They did a very professional job. They also moved a hutch to our daughters.
