Artisan Roof Repairs & Maintenance

Great -- very professional in all respects. I especially appreciated the before and after photos of the areas that were worked on.

The repairs were performed at the church where I am now deacon of facilities. This building was destroyed in May 2008 when an EF3 tornado hit our town. The shell of this commercial building was rebuilt in 2010 and the portion that we own (4 units) was configured for use as a church. The subcontractor hired to perform the HVAC systems made several mistakes that didn't fully manifest until a year or two later. During rain and/or snow storms that were accompanied by high winds, moisture could get into the vertical and goose neck vents. That water would then go down the pipes and leak out through joints in the pipes located inside the attic. This led to some ceiling and wall damage in our sanctuary area. Initially, the damage was not severe and the rate of occurrence was low so the issues were essentially ignored. Over the past year, however, the problems became worse. Accordingly, I was asked to investigate the root causes of the problems and get estimates for the repairs. I identified three local roofing contractors who had good reviews and contacted each of them to acquire bids. The first contractor came out and inspected the roof penetrations but couldn’t determine what would be causing the leaks. He was a young man and told me that he would discuss his findings with a more senior member of the company and get back to me. I never heard anything from them. The second contractor that I contacted never even returned my initial phone call. This left me with the remaining contractor, Artisan Roof Repair and Maintenance out of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Artisan contacted me and set up a date for the initial inspection. Unfortunately, we experienced a snow storm the day before the inspection so Artisan called to reschedule their visit. On the appointed day, Sean (owner) and a helper showed up right at the specified time. They talked to me to gather information on the problems we had experienced. Then I took Sean inside to view the damaged areas and give him insight into the types of HVAC systems we had. Next, he went up onto the roof and thoroughly analyzed all of the roof penetration sites. He took numerous photos and then went back to the office to prepare a repair estimate. The estimate included copies of his photos which confirmed the problems. He found that the caulk used to seal the joints in the vent pipes was not adhering to the sheet metal which allowed water to get inside the pipes. He also found a couple base flashings that were not lying flat to the shingles (allowing water to blow up under them). Finally, he noticed that the vent caps on the vertical pipes were not adequate for high wind applications like ours. He gave us a quote of $1290 to replace all of the vent caps, remove the defective caulk and replace it with a high quality sealant, add screws and sealant to the flashings that were humped up, and add mesh screens to the openings of the 14 inch goose neck vents to minimize the possibility of water blowing up into them. The church approved the work and it was successfully implemented on January 4, 2016. I was very impressed with the quality and professionalism of Artisan. Sean and his wife made sure that I was fully informed throughout the entire project and they met all of their commitments. Sean took numerous pictures prior to providing the bid and he also supplied me with numerous pictures showing the repaired areas (after the job was completed). I highly recommend Artisan for anyone that has roof repair or maintenance issues. I know that I will not hesitate to call Sean for any future roof needs we might have at our church.

When I called Artisan they were not able to schedule job until late August. Later they were able to reschedule to August 12th. We set a 2:30 schedule for that day. Sean was able to come earlier and called to see if he could come ahead of time. I was really happy with that change. He did the work and was done within an hour. He charged me a reasonable amount. I wish that every contractor would behave in sure a professional manner. Outstanding. I will definitely use him again. When I need to replace my roof I plan to use Artisan!

First of all, dealing with both Sean and his wife was a pleasure. They were very responsive and enthusiastically so. Sean always showed up very much knowing what to do and he got right to it. He was excellent about talking to us in detail about what he was doing and what he would recommend if ever there was a problem again. He is clearly committed to doing what he says and doing it well.

We called Artisan to have them repair two small leaks in the roof. Val responded within a couple of hours and set up an appointment that was set to make sure that the roof was looked at before the next expected rainfall. Sean was very professional throughout the process, taking pictures of the affected area, explaining what was leaking, what it would take to repair them, and what the cost would be. We agreed, and he did the work right then. He took pictures during and after the repair and went over them with us once the work was completed. Although I had not mentioned it to Val when setting the appointment, I asked Sean to look a location on the roof that did not have a deflector, causing rain to run down the eave. Although he had another appointment, Sean took the time to look at the area, take pictures and explained what needed to be done. He took the information, and Val then sent me an estimate for the repairs. We then set up a time for Sean to come back out and make those repairs. We will use Artisan for any roof work needed in the future.

Fuzzy on details now, but it looked like they did an excellent job from the pics and descriptions they gave me (and I looked from the ground).  Seemed very professional and know what they're doing.  No hesitation to call them again if needed.

They were great. I called them and they came out immediately to give us an estimate. I wasn't here when they did the installation. The product was really good. They did the work as scheduled and came in under budget. They were fantastic. I definitely would use them again.

My experience with Artisan was entirely positive from start to finish.
I first contacted Artisan when their office was closed and left a message. They (Val Jensen) returned my call promptly. It was difficult to describe the geometry of my roof and I wasn't sure exactly what needed to be done. Val and I discussed the problems I was having and scheduled an appointment to assess my roof problems and repairs. Sean arrived on time and inspected the problem area of my roof. He then came down and showed me pictures he had taken and made recommendations on repairs. He gave me an estimate and I had the repairs made right away.
It's rained several times since the repairs and my problem with the roof is history.
I also asked Sean to look at the rest of the roof and he corrected several other problems before they caused damage.
Everyone at Artisan was extremely courteous and competent. The pictures make it easy to understand what is wrong and what's being repaired. They provide both before and after pictures.
I recommend Artisan highly and will contact them in the future if I have roof problems.

I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism of Artisan. After getting the run-around with another local roofing company, I contacted Artisan. They were prompt to return my call, worked around my schedule, showed up on time, and completed all work the same day. They provided detailed before and after photos with their invoice. Even though this was a small job, the leaks were impacting my commercial office building and the tenants. I was very pleased with how Artisan conducted business and with their quality of work.

After completing a full inspection of the roof, I contracted Artisan to complete a couple items that needed to be repaired, including a skylight that had been improperly installed. Sean and his crew were extremely professional in completing the repairs. I won't hesitate to call him again with any roof repair issues.

We have had a leak for several years where the roof over the garage meets the wall of the bedroom over the garage. At first, it was just some minor damage to the wall board in the garage, but with all the rain this summer it began leaking into the garage -- a lot! But with all damage from the flooding it was difficult to get the big roofing companies to come out and look at a small job like ours. Eventually we came across Artisan and thought they'd be perfect for the type of job we had. So we call them up; they were busy, too, but at least they returned our call and set up an appointment.
When Sean and his crew came out he looked at the roof and had a pretty good idea was was wrong even before taking the shingles off. My husband, who is an engineer and pretty handy around the house (but doesn't do roofing, sewers, or automobile exhaust systems!), had been thinking about how it could be leaking and had come up with pretty much the same diagnosis so he felt really good about the diagnosis and estimate. Sean gave us an estimate that seemed reasonable and in line with what we expected, so we gave the go-ahead to fix it. Sean was able to fix it that day because they were running early that day; they had called earlier and asked if it was OK to come early, which was a nice touch.
Sean did a great job on the roof. The diagnosis was correct once he got into it: the roof originally was installed incorrectly and likely had leaked from the beginning; a little at first, them more over time as debris had gotten under the shingles and directed more and more water under the shingles, back under the flashing between the roof and the wall, and down into the garage. Sean removed the shingles next to the house, fixed the issues with how the flashing had been installed, and installed new shingles along with caulking under the shingles to prevent water and debris from getting back under the shingles. (I'm probably over-simplifying what they did; they explained it all to my husband and he was very satisfied with the explanation!) Sean even sent one of his crew out to get shingles that matched exactly what was on the roof.
The results were great! The shingles match perfectly and you can't even tell we had any work done on the roof. Their cleanup was perfect, I haven't found even a single nail that they dropped! Of course, it's hasn't rained since yesterday, so we haven't tested that part of the repair, but given the work they did I'm confident that the problem is fixed.
My husband especially liked that Sean took pictures of the problem and the repair and that Sean showed him some of the problem parts after the repair. It helped make sense of why the roof leaked before and why it wouldn't leak now.
We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend Artisan for roofing work!

On every visit Sean Jensen has exhibited professionalism. He takes many pictures of damage and of his finished work (and in the case of the hail checking, undamaged areas as well) and sends them to us for our records. His roof leak fixes were completed with no continuing problems (several years now). His inspection of our roof after two hail storms only indicated minor damage which he fixed the same day. He is trustworthy and did not inflate the damage estimate, in stark contrast to other roofers working in the neighborhood. He has always made his appointments on time and met his commitments. He cleans up well and leaves our property in immaculate condition. The billing and follow-up calls were also professional. We could not have had a better experience and will depend on Sean and his company for all of our roofing needs.

This was an excellent experience. Shawn and his crew were professional and also very skilled craftsmen. I also work in the trades and recognize when someone is going above and beyond. The work site was also left impeccably clean. I did not find even one shingle nail!! The roof now looks better than the day it was built!! Shawn and his crew are true experts in their field!! Also, working with Val in the office was great! scheduling and insurance matters were handled in a timely manner. Val was able to answer any questions and worked with us to find a schedule around visitors coming and our insurance claim expiring. This team of people put a good name in the roofing business.

Promptly came over and looked over problem and suggested a fix and provided an estimate. They quickly fixed the problem and took pictures of thier work and emailed them to us as promised and quoted. Workmanship was very good and they followed up with us to make sure we were satisfied. We are very pleased with their work. Excellent company that is concerned with quality work and the customers satisfaction.

I called to get the roof repaired because there were some loose and missing shakes. Val, the scheduler, asked me if it was an emergency and needed to be done right away, otherwise they could schedule me for the next week. That was fine. They called to let me know that the was an opening earlier in the week, but we couldn't work it out so we left it at the originally scheduled date and time. On the scheduled day, Sean, the owner, actually called me ahead of time and asked if it would be alright if they came a half hour early! That worked out well for me so Sean and a helper showed up at the rescheduled time and performed the work as needed. They were efficient and thorough. They took pictures of the repairs and showed them to me. I was very happy with their performance. Just a note: I had used them a few years earlier and was very pleased with their performance at that time as well. I highly recommend them.

I originally met Sean and the Artisan Roof crew whe a section of my roof blew off in 2010. They were prompt, gave me a great estimate and performed the work that day. The results blended with my roof beautifully. Sean took pictures before and after, so that I could understand everthing that happened. They left my home in better shape than when they arrived...one of guys even fixed a minor issue with one of my downspouts. Knocked my socks off!
So, when the big hail storm hit in 2011, I called my insurance agent. My insurance adjuster said to hire someone local and to get three bids. He said it was wisest if I handled the insurance myself and boy was he right! I have Allstate and the claim was so easy to handle. The adjuster came out and totalled my roof. Allstate sent me a check for their estimate.
I was amazed at how many out of town storm chasers came knocking on my door...um...daily. None would provide an upfront bid and all said they would handle the insurance claim for me and simply do it for the insurance amount (I would have lost control on how my contractor got paid). I tried to get three bids and only Artisan could deliver...which is cool...I probably would have hired them anyway:-) The bid was about two hundred dollars more than my claim but I was happy to hire a company I knew I could trust.
Artisan was booked solid through the following spring but Val, the Office Manager kept in touch with me each step of the way. My roof finally went in during the spring of 2012. They made sure my roof was buttoned up the whole time and did not expose it to any of the elements. When they pulled the old roof, they found multiple holes in the decking where the original contractor tried to fit a vent. Sean totally replaced those sections of decking, they fixed many areas of flashing, added a downspout and a ridgevent system (I had know idea what any of this was until Sean explained it to me). My roof looks beautiful! And several of my neighbors have complemented me on it! The inspection went wonderful and I paid Artisan (with my insurance funds) after the inspection was a success! Overall very happy!

After the hailstorm there were a bunch of guys in the neighborhood going around telling everybody they would get the insurance company to put on new roof and apparently they did. It really was fraudulent to come and check our roof, and the guy from Artisan said we have exactly seven shingles that need replacing and only two of those are hail damage. The other guys are kind of roofing scam of which there is a great deal. He only does roof repair. He is not cheap, but he has been very good. He is a nice guy, and he has been doing this a long time. He just isn't out to sell us a big job. We just didn't get any bids. We just had him do it, so it is hard to tell about the price. We trusted him.

Awesome company. They go above and beyond to make sure the job is done *right*. They addressed and repaired all the issues they encountered that were done improperly by the builder, taking pictures of the entire process start to finish. They also cleaned and re-hung the gutters properly. Materials were top quality as well and they explained the entire process and product line. Our price tag may look high, but we extra work done. Top notch company and fast to respond.

Sean Jensen responded in a timely manner and all work was done within 10 days or less of our first phone call. He explained our roofing problem to us and took pics to show us what he was talking about. He personally did all the work and explained the quality and type of materials he would be using to do the repair. He took pics while he worked as well as and quot;afterand quot; pics to share with us so we could see exactly what he did to fix the problem. These pics were sent to our email address.

Everything went very well. Sean is a pleasure to work with. The estimate for the repairs was sent to me via email the next day with the pictures attached. It was a busy time for roofers, but Sean got the job done within a week of providing the estimate. I then received an invoice via email with pictures of the repairs attached. Very impressive!

Sean Jensen was on time. Sean did an excellent job, and delivered a picture afterwards of his work to me so I did not have to go up the roof to check it. The price was exactly as quoted before. I recommend Sean to anyone who needs a repair of their roof or repair of flashing on his roof repaired. In talking with Sean it is clear that he has a tremendous experience how roofs are to be installed, and especially seems to be an expert on repairing wood shake roofs.
