When we first spoke on the phone, John gave me a quote. I insisted that he see the situation in person because I had been given so much grief. In spite of his busy schedule, he came to check it out. He stuck by the original quote and said we wouldn't need to cut the counter after all. We ordered the sink and made an appointment with him to do the work. The new sink had one basin and was several inches lower than the old sink so he needed to move the plumbing around, but he had all the supplies with him. He was exactly right - the sink fit beautifully into the hole that was already there. Because of our schedules, he came in the evening, but got everything done with amazing speed. We will definitely try to hire him again for future projects.

My bathroom is drop-dead gorgeous after Jonathan's remodel.  He gutted it, relocated the toilet, redid the plumbing, removed a pre-fab shower stall and installed a new tub and new everything else -- shower tile with decorative pattern, floor tile, vanity, toilet, light, built-in shelf into the drywall, fixtures, towel bars, etc.  Excluding a bit of existing drywall, it was a full gut/remodel.  He also did extensive replacement of existing plumbing and added a new water line which involved working in a nasty, tiny crawl space all day.  Jonathan is a great technician with plumbing, being a master plumber.  He also has a great eye for design.  He went to town on my bathroom.  It looks unbelievably beautiful, far and away the nicest bathroom I've ever had.  I don't think I'd hesitate to call on him for any plumbing issue of any kind, plus whatever tile work he might agree to do.  He's also a really nice guy and as his notes say, he does all his own work.  He has an assistant that helps but he does the work.  The only issue we had was his scheduling.  The work took longer than agreed upon and he did bump me a few times for other jobs.  If we were to contract together for additional work, I'd ensure I thoroughly understood his schedule and other existing work which might interfere with mine.

We called Jonathan when we thought the water shut off valve for our sprinkler system was leaking.  He said he'd be happy to come fix it, but recommended we try a couple of things on our own first to save money.  After two days, we still had a slow leak, so we called him back.  He came out on the day we scheduled within the 30 minute estimated time frame.  He took a look at the valve, gave us an estimate and got to work.  He was able to fix it quickly despite it being in a tough location (shoved up next to a wall) and the final total was exactly the estimate he'd given.  The price was very fair.



On his way out, I asked him to look at another issue we had under our sink and he was more than happy to do it.  He said he'd be happy to come back and fix it, but that my husband could probably do it in his spare time if we wanted to save money.  He spent a few minutes showing my husband what to do.



Jonathan was professional, honest, and willing to help us help ourselves, which we always appreciate.  He'll be our go-to plumber for anything we need in the future.

Called a couple of places and Johnathan had the lowest estimate.  Basically $300 for labor plus the cost of the water heater.  Although he only had one review on Angie's List I decided to take a flyer on him.
I was happy that he showed up within an hour of calling.  He took a quick look at the water heater connections and then went to Home Depot to pick up the new water heater.  Had the Home Depot cashier call me for my credit card to make the purchase, then hauled the water heater back to my place.  The two of us wrestled the big box down to the basement.  He asked me to go back to Home Depot to pick up a pvc coupling that he needed, and by the time I got back he had swapped out the water heaters.  Probably took him less than 20 minutes.  In the meantime he had placed a Craigslist ad for the broken water heater, and a scrap metal guy came by later to pick it up.  All in all, I was impressed with Johnathan's polite manner and the low cost relative to other plumbers, as well as how efficient he was getting the job done.  Thanks and kudos!
