Pereida Construction and Remodeling

When he came out to do the work he told me that he had a lot of references and was on the BBB, Angie's List, and JD Power. We went through the yard and he gave an estimate of $6000.00. He asked for $1200.00 down. I advised that I would like a contract before paying the down payment. He told me that he would bring the contract around May 28th. I called him and he told me that he had to go out of town to see his parents. He told me he would come the next Monday with the contract, he ended up coming a few days later than he said and asked for $2000 for the rock that needed to be ordered but still still did not give me a contract. I wrote him the check anyway. The next week he called and said that he was very busy but promised to come out. On June 9th, $700 worth of rock was delivered. He had two people come out an clean the yard. Two weeks later he had someone come to the door and ask for another $2500.00 to complete the job even though he had barely started. I wrote another check. The next day he called and asked for another $800. I told him that I would not give him any more money because I still did not have a contract and the work was barely started. I would like to have my money returned! I don't want anyone else to get ripped off!
