Please learn from our mistake! Juan Rizzi and Evergreen Flooring and Tile have scammed our out of $12k. Furthermore, after it became apparent he was a scam artist, a very quick online search found at least 2 other legal cases against him, and discovery he is not licensed or insured. Boy do I wish we had sought more info before hiring him! Here is our story...At first Juan was very kind and responsive regarding our desire for heated floor, hardwood and live edge trim. When his quote came in higher than our budget, we had a lengthy conversation about options to reduce cost. We told him several times we understood if our budget didn't work for him, and that we wanted to make sure he felt good about the job. Ultimately we agreed on a price, paid him $12k down payment and signed a contract. Immediately after this, the excuses started... delays, poor communication and multiple times when he would say he would be on site, never show up and not contact us. Ultimately he did install the heated floor, however with very poor workmanship, ie- unevenly laid underlayment, thin set splattered on our finished walls and existing trim, electrician cut unnecessary hole in our wall and leaving dangerously loose wiring, and he 'self-leveled' with inappropriate substrate leaving our subfloor in an unusable state. We confronted him on these concerns and he finally emailed us 2 days after what was to be the contracted completion date with the following statement, " As you know we are beyond our substantial completion date timeline outlined in our agreement. The reason for the is purely mine." He then offered us options to reduce budget, change the timeline or cancel the contract and he would initiate refund. We opted to cancel the contract. After 2 more weeks of delays, he offered us $5500 refund. The invoice he provided to justify him keeping $6500 of our money listed approx $5000 in expenses (we requested receipts as the actual expenses were less that $2500) PLUS $1500 in company profit!!! We contacted a lawyer. On their recommendation, we sent a formal certified rejection letter and got an estimate to understand cost to repair the terrible state our floor was left in. The quote came in just under $4000. Also, the certified letter was returned to us with a postal note that the PO box listed on the signed contract was vacant! Since then, he has completely ghosted us, no response to any attempts at communication. It appears he has taken our $12k, left our floor in shambles and disappeared. I don't think he has actually left town, and obviously we are pursuing legal action. However, in the meantime I want to make sure no one else gets scammed the way we have. And if he responds to this review saying this is not true, I have documentation to prove everything I am claiming.

Wood Flooring Refinish

I very highly recommend this business. Juan oversaw the whole project, and he was GREAT! He and his teams refinished my wood floor, then replaced carpet in several rooms. All look great! I was thrilled with his teams' professionalism and craftmanship. The job was flawless, and he took care of getting furniture out of the hose and back in with professional movers. Because of rain, the movers actually left their truck at our home for the 3 days they were working on my home. His teams moved from one part of the job to the next for various projects without any delays,

I do NOT recommend working with the Evergreen Flooring and Tile Company. I encountered them at the Home and Garden Show in Denver, CO, but I wish I had done more research about the company before hiring them to install tile in my bathroom. Some of the employees are dishonest and unprofessional and the company struggles with project management (ordering almost double the amount of material actually needed for the project; starting the project several days after the agreed upon start date; and switching the tile installer in the middle of the project leading to inconsistent quality of work). Their labor rates were questionable as well. Specifically, I requested a labor quote for a change order in the middle of the project that initially came in at $900 which I rejected for being too expensive. Then the quote magically dropped to $400 after that. Finally, if you do choose to hire this company, do NOT allow Mason to have any part in your project.

ZERO STARS I paid Juan Rizzi over $100,000 to be a GC on a modular home project. He did not stick to dates he set, constant excuses and delays. He lied about needing full payment for our set, in order to secure the contract and to pay â his guys.â I called he company he supposedly hired and they said they donâ t take money up front and he never scheduled us with them. After our well was dug he did not pay with with the money we had given him for this reason. We had a mechanics Leon placed on our property as a result. He also failed to pay the concrete sub and the septic installer. So we paid twice for all of these things. We have filed a lawsuit. He also has a lawsuit in federal court pending and has 7 unpaid judgements against him. He is an incompetent GC and scam artist. Beware !!
