BROKER ONE CONSTRUCTION

We had to take him to court due to inept hardwood floor installation. He claimed to have experience installing hardwood floors, but the final product is unacceptable: large gaps between boards, damage to the pre-finished product during installation, boards coming up already in less than a year. We hired a floor consultant to examine the work: concluded that installation was NOT done to industry standards, even so bad as using FINISH nails to fasten the boards to the sub-floor, and even then not in the recommended locations. We will need to replace the floor, ruining the materials, in order to have it done right. We won a judgment in court but then he balked at paying; we had to settle for less than the judgement to get any money to fix the problems. Now other problems arising, doors falling off cabinets, water leaks, etc. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We might never remodel again after this experience.
