Oak Construction

The challenge we faced was constantly changing county requirements. This drove our material costs and labor costs up tremendously, as it added changes as we went, and then added overbuilding requirements. Oak Construction adapted to all of these without complaint, and an upbeat attitude, which I have not found in contractors before. They were fast, except when faced with difficult angle cutting of very large styrofoam panels, which I believe is unusual, but was required by the County's HERS Rater. There were several examples of the kind of thing they went out of their way to do to please us. Here is one: Due to the HERS Rating requirements for the conditioned part of the barn we, at the very end, had to spray foam the ceiling of the downstairs unconditioned part of the barn which is used for my Pick Your Own Fruit farm operation. It went from beautiful exposed wood to pale yellow/green warehouse foam, and it ruined the look of the space, which was critical to my business. This was not the fault of Oak Construction but rather a result of a mistake made in the engineering by the HERS Rater, and it was required by the County to correct that mistake. For me it resulted in more cost and a partially terrible result. I left town for a 3 days before Christmas last year, and Oak Construction, knowing how disappointed I was, came in and paneled over the the foam on the ceiling with beetle kill pine. I came back, and discovered it done. They did it for material cost only, which my wife paid, and that would normally have been a week's job, but they did it spur of the moment while I was gone to surprise me. Remember, the cause of this problem was not Oak Construction, but rather the HERS Rater, and yet they did it just to make us happy for no profit for themselves. It absolutely solved the problem, and I have an incredible space for my business now. People constantly compliment me on it. I find this kind of willingness to go the extra mile for a customer with no obvious benefit to themselves, incredibly unusual in almost any business, but in construction, it is especially so. This "Barn" is so finely built that it looks like master craftsmanship. I would be willing to show anyone the barn to detail Oak Construction's fine work. Absolutely the highest recommendation I can give to any business I have dealt with. After the Colorado Flood, close friends of ours had their home and property very seriously damaged. I immediately arranged for Oak Construction to help. At this point they were in high demand, but they went out of their way to help, for very little cost, and may be the contractors who rebuild the home when the time comes. Their responsiveness, expertise and reasonable prices are unparalleled.
