At Nitty Gritty Cleaning our employees are background checked before hiring. We only hire hard working, honest people. Once a cleaner is placed in your home, we will not substitute or replace your cleaner without your approval. We have a 100% guarantee on our cleanings and strive to meet your needs. The owner does surprise visits during cleanings to ensure all client wishes are met. We use environmentally friendly cleaning agents when possible and are conscious of using the correct cleaning agent where needed.

Why did they walk off?
Well, after they came the first time in the most recent batch of cleanings and did a very poor job, we decided to leave a note asking them to do specific items. We asked them to mop the kitchen, wipe window sills, dust everything, and wipe baseboards- because apparently they are the only cleaning company on earth who doesn't do those things in a normal cleaning. We left for the day and an hour later got a nasty email from the owner Kelly Jordan saying she would never work for us again. She said our note was extremely rude (a bullet point list) and actually walked out IN THE MIDDLE of the job with no contact before hand. So much for " a 100% guarantee on our cleanings and strive to meet your needs."
She said she does NOT work for our roommate- there was no roommate, my friend was a guest and paid to get the whole house cleaned as a gift. We were amazed at her utter lack of professionalism deciding who she would and would not listen to based on what she thinks of the nature of the relationships of people in a house!!
Also, she says in her business description that "Once a cleaner is placed in your home, we will not substitute or replace your cleaner without your approval." We had a constant stream of different cleaners without a word mentioned.
We have since changed cleaners and can not tell you how much happier we are. Not only are they far more professional, but the cleanings are better beyond belief. What Nitty Gritty considers such a deep clean that it was outrageous for us to ask for it "Not only do we not work for the roommate, but a deep cleaning takes time. lots of time", our new cleaners told us was included with EVERY cleaning and seemed shocked that we had to ask. They were also much faster and hardly more expensive. DON'T use nitty gritty!
"This man is very crude and overly demanding. This other person was in fact not a guest but someone who is living there everyday. He demands that we clean up after his dog mess. We have never been expected to do deep cleaning in his home and wanted him to know that it need to be scheduled not demanded. The list was rude and at the bottom of the list demanded " sparkles". After many years of cleaning and NEVER having unhappy clients I was not going to put my employees in a situation that I would not stay in. I tried to call his son, who is my contact, 3 times but I was later told that his phone was dead. I asked for him to call me so I could go over the list accordingly to make sure everyone was happy. After he did not return my call I decided to have my cleaner leave. They hired us only when he was in town 2 weeks out of the year and expected a house that hadn't been cleaned in that time to " sparkle"."
