Our basement flooded with the rapid snowmelt of the April storm. Unfortunately, we were out of town and came home to find the mess. I called Stink Inc and Rob answered the call. Even though they were extremely busy, he fit us in the schedule for the same day. We really appreciate that he is a caring professional who realized the gravity of our situation and didn't turn us away. They came out, extracted the existing water and put dehumidifiers to remedy the situation. Then they returned in a few days to check the humidity level .

A plumbing company caused a flood in our basement and after a week of phone calls, they finally hooked me up with Stink Inc. Everyone at Stink Inc that I worked with or spoke to was super responsive and very professional. They came out and checked to make sure everything was thoroughly dry and that we'd have no issues with mold. When their dehumidifier then sprung a leak (reflooding the basement) they were right on top of it to get it dried back out right away. They even sent a guy into the tiny crawlspace below the basement to check the moisture level to be sure we'd have no issues. The only reason I put a B for overall experience was the leaky dehumidifier.

My basement flooded, due to a backed up sewer pipe. Stinkinc was the company that I used to restore/repair my basement back to it s original condition after the flood damage (which encompassed tile work, drywall, painting, carpet cleaning, and furniture moving). They tried to lay the tile 3 times and finally had to call in a different crew to finish the job. It took them 4 months to finish the job. The owner screamed at me, because I did not pay right away, because the job was not finished. The owner expressed that he felt that the job was done. I replied that my 4 months of frustration and poor work by his employees, that I should be compensated. He refused and yelled at me.

"This report is quite unfair and inaccurate. We would like the opportunity to address this in front of a third party for factual aspects. We took care of this customer and did have some timing issues that were partly our issue but also the homeowners and her insurance did pose issues for us. I believe we certainly could have done a better job communicating, however the tile related is completely fabricated. She initially asked us to patch this in using old tile. She was told it would not match yet still insisted on proceeding so she could save money on what insurance remitted to her. Again we would be quite happy to address as this review is very troubling considering what we did to take care of her. She certainly was not yelled at."

We called them on Saturday morning and they were there within an hour ($250 extra fee for Saturday service). Two guys cleaned up a very disgusting job within two hours. They did a very thorough job and also tested the drywall with a moisture meter to determine whether it had gotten wet. They did have to cut out half of the carpet. To do that job, they called another (5 Star Carpet, I think), who also came out very quickly and got the job done right away. Finally, they sprayed the downstairs with a biocide and left fans and a dehumidifier here for a couple of days to ensure that all of the water was gone.

They were great to work with and they were very honest. When they came to the house, they gave us a list with the total cost with everything broken down. We found them to be very thorough. They are willing to work with you to save you some expense if you would like to do some of the work yourself. They will tell you how and what to do. They were on time and if for some reason they were going to be late, they called. I think that is very professional. Our estimate will be adjusted, as we did some of the work ourselves. They will take that in to consideration. I would highly recommend them for a project like this.

THIS COMPANY WAS ONE OF THE MOST DISHONEST ORGANIZATIONS I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. I WAS MISREPRESENTED ON THE HOURLY RATES AND THE TIME SPENT ON THE JOB. I EVEN SENT IN A COMPLAINT TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

"Unfortunately he is not being fair here. In fact, he was offered third party review with the BBB and he declined. Ultimately, his issues are that his unnamed painter said we worked certain hours which was not factual in any way. In addition, he did sign a line item time and materials estimate for the work and we did charge him less than the estimate. We would be happy to go over this with any independent third party for review. We were not even aware of this complaint."
