Schick Custom Decks

These guys were great! Highly knowledgeable about decks of different types. They were always punctual and professional. They even went above and beyond to fix issues left by previous contractors. Initial setup seemed a little slow but once things were in place they easily caught themselves back up to keep in line with our deadline. Would definitely recommend to anyone on a budget (or not) looking for a beautiful addition to their home.

Complete rip out and construction of new deck. Price was 20% lower than other companies. Construction quality is outstanding. I have some construction background so I was very impressed. Product quality, design plan water drainage all outstanding

Bill and his crew did a amazing job throughout the time they were here!

They did a crappy job staining a sanding it. They missed many spots, applied the stain unevenly and then lied about the work we both agreed on. We made them come back to apply a second coat which looks much better now. The problem is now that when they sanded the deck, they left the sanding machine on certain spots for too long and then stained it right away. There are now permanent marks which looks like utter crud now. The owner's son tried to fix it but it was already too late. Terrible attention to detail and very poor quality. I will never hire these guys again.

Should you hire Schick Custom Decks? 

A building permit was not pulled, and engineering reports were not provided as promised.  The project was left unfinished, materials were improperly installed and exterior siding to our home was damaged.  The resulting workmanship did not meet local building codes.  The work had to be removed, replaced, and/or repaired to meet manufacturer installation specifications and to comply with local building codes.  We won a judgment through Arapahoe County Small Claim Courts for $3,774, on which we have received only $300 in reimbursement from Schick since February 2010.  After paying Schick $10,000, in the end this project has cost us another $5,300 to correct their work, $217 in additional court costs, and to this date, an accrued $477 in interest since the awarded judgment.  In a Contempt of Court hearing, we showed the court that Schick was doing business on a cash basis, thereby eliminating any attachable assets.  Will we ever get our money back?

Be very careful about doing business with William B. Schick!  Don?t let your nightmares come true!
