We agreed on a price and a number of inches to be added to our attic. After the work was completed I could see a large amount of insulation added around the attic door. But in all other locations in the attic had about 50% less Insulation added. I was about cheated out about 1/2% of my order. It took several requests before they came back to add just a small amount more. They were terrible to work with! I was ripped off!

They came out to look at the job and sent me an estimate. Dispatcher call and we agreed on Monday morning. the were a no-show, I called and eventually got a call back. They had some kind of mechanical issue. OK, stuff happens but a call would have been nice. We rescheduled for Friday morning. No-show again, no call, nothing. Time to find someone else.

I called and spoke with Kent Thornberg about a small insulation job we needed done in our crawl space. He was friendly & professional. He said his estimator named Zach would call us later in the day to schedule an on-site estimate. Zach never called. I called the company the next day and was forwarded to Zach's cell phone. I left a message on Zach's cell phone. He never called.
Sure, I could have continued attempts contact Zach, or called Kent again, but by this point, Rocky Mtn Insulation Corp. had lost my business, and I had moved on to other companies. We ended up going with a company that provided prompt and courteous service, and did an excellent job.

We wanted to go with spray foam insulation in our basement finish and RMI is one of the few that actually does it. They quoted us not just for spray foam but also for fiberglass batts as well. The workers hung plastic everywhere so there was almost no overspray and then if the foam expanded beyond joists they simply sawed it down to make it flush. Overall we are very happy with the results. All work was completed within a few hours in 1 day.

Estimator came out promptly and emailed an estimate.  I called the scheduler, Darryl to set up an appointment.  He told me he would call me on Wed.  He never called.  I called Friday morning at 8 AM to inquire about the schedule.  He offered me the 12-2:00 slot that day.  I said I would be home and available at that time.  No one ever showed or called during this time.  At 3:00 I called the company and was informed they were all gone for the day.  I left Darryl a voicemail.  Never heard from him until I called the company the following Tuesday to complain.   He claims the crew was at my house at 9 AM and thought they did the work since he never heard from his crew.  I reminded him that I would not have agreed to 9 AM since I knew I was not available (although my husband was working from home that day).   Instead of trying to resolve the problem, he continued to argue with me and offered no resolution.  I asked for the owner, Kent to call me back but he never did.

Poor business practices ~ If a crew showed up for work at a house and no one answered the door, wouldn't they have thought to call me or the scheduler?  We will not be using this company.

I joined Angie's List and have scheduled a highly rated company for an estimate later this week.

"I would like to apologize to for our lacking or miscommunication between Rocky Mountain Insulation and the member. We had the job scheduled for Friday the 23rd. Due to poor weather conditions on Thursday we were playing catch up, trying to get all of our customers taken care of before Christmas. The crew that went to the member's home was in the area from a job they finished earlier that morning. They called me and asked if it was o.k. if they went to the job earlier as they were already close. I gave them the approval to take care of the member's job at that time. It was not until I received a message several days later that I learned the job was not completed. Myself, like many others were on vacation that week. We have used this less than perfect experience to learn from. Kent Thornbery Rocky Mountain Insulation 303.789.0006"

I had Kent come out and look at the home. We showed him where the cold spots were and asked what could be done. He guided us through the process and gave us a bid. We loved that he had taken the time to explain why they would do what they needed to do. The day came for them to start with a phone call from Aaron to verify we were ready. Shortly after the team arrived and started on the work. Aaron showed up a little later to make sure things were going smoothly, and they were. He said he had to leave as they were being filmed by HGTV later that day. The team finished up and left and again a phone call came in to make sure everything was good.
