They started 2 weeks later than I was told. They came and completed the wall at the front of the house and started the work on the wall behind the house. For over two weeks nobody came back to work. The proposal was for pavers, rocks, grass, plants and trees. They never did any of this work. Over a 12 day period in early July of 2014, I make 7 contacts (email, text, and phone) to Mike Moilanen (President) and he didn't respond to any of my requests for updates on the project. Finally he responded to an email and agreed to refund our deposit less the work that he had done. We agreed to this. But he didn't refund our deposit, so we stopped at his office on July 31st and he told us to stop the next day (August 1) to pick up our check. Of course their was no check for us on August 1. We sent a registered letter on August 15, 2014 to him requesting a meeting to settle this issue. No response from Mike Moilanen. Our attorney sent a letter in early September to resolve the issue of our refund check. Again, no response from Mike Moilanen. We ended up going to court and on January 13, 2015 the judge ruled in our favor of a $9,000 refund check. Mike Moilanen from Nu Style Landscape still did not pay us our refund. Our attorney had to get a court issued garnishment from Nu Style's bank. Finally, on March 16th, 2015 we received our refund of $9,000.
We had to battle for 8 months to get a refund check that Mike Moilanen told us in July of 2014 he would pay us. We had to incur $1,500 of legal bills.
I've built 2 houses and 2 office buildings so I've dealt with a lot of vendors in my lifetime. I found Nu Style Landscape the worst vendor I've ever worked with.
"Unfortunately our contract was with the home.builder and NOT with (removed member name). We put in a basic landscape package that the builder provides the.owners. he wanted to change the package but didn't want to pay for changes so we didn't do them. Its unfortunate that an owner that doesn't get his way it is not willing to pay for additional work can get on a site and bad mouth a great company. We strive hard to provide the best service possible and if you look at our web site we have a lot of.great referrals from (removed member name) neighbors !!"
