Sorry that I don't have exact date and cost, but I called several computer repair service providers and Brian gave me an accurate extimate on the phone (which most others I called would not quote me an estimate or the estimate was much higher than Geek St computers). Actual cost was as estimated, He offered to take my computer that day, gave me an accurate time frame for screen to come in which was correct and notified me when work was done. Location was not especially convenient, but easy to find with Brian's directions. Was worth the drive.

After about 2 weeks I called them and asked if my part had arrived. They did not seem to know. Then a day or two later they called me and said the part arrived. I went in and it was not the correct part. They said they would re-order it and put a rush on it. Again I waited about 2 weeks, they called me, I went in, the part was installed correctly and works correctly now.In talking with them it is clear that they are geeks, perhaps not grounded in business reality like I expected. They were friendly and courteous. However their casualness was disappointing.

The guys I spoke with gave me an $80.00 diagnostic quote over the phone right before Thanksgiving 2013.  They gave me a few scenarios -- from best to worst on what the solution could end up costing.  They gave me an initial estimate of the repairs being done on the earlier part of the first week of December.
Took the laptop to Geek Street the weekend right before Thanksgiving, on November 26.  They said they will call me back.
After not getting a phone call, I called them on December 4, Wednesday.  They said that are still working on the laptop and will call me back.
The weekend passed and still no phone call.  Called them again on December 9, Monday.  They said that the laptop is ready for pick-up and they have it on "observation" to see if the red pixels show up again.  I finally picked up the laptop on December 10, Tuesday.  The final cost, since they took the laptop apart and took about two hours to solder a loose clamp: $180.00, tax included.
Final verdict: Great work, very knowledge and patient with explaining the different scenarios, sucky call back, but overall, very happy with the result of the service.  Will definitely use again.  I would rather deal with folks who are very knowledgeable instead of super-nice folks that quoted me a much higher price of around $250-300.

I thought my system fan was going out on my laptop...I found Geek Street on Angie's List...called them, they gave me an estimate for repair...went over that day with my computer...and my fans were just very dusty!  They opened up my laptop, blew out the fans, made sure they were working properly, started up my laptop - and said that my computer just got hot - fans are working fine, and did not charge me a cent!
They were so nice - and they have computer recycling - so we're going to take some old computers we have to them...most places charge you to recycle computers and electronics!
If my fan does go out - of course, I'll be calling them again...or if I need any type of computer-related work done - definitely will be visiting the Geek Street guys : )

The folks at Geek Street were awesome throughout the entire process. Although my first phone call to them wasn't until after 1:30 in the afternoon, they agreed to look at my computer that day.
As soon as I walked in, Gene began taking the machine apart, diagnosed the problem and noticed that the mounting hardware for the screen was damaged. He performed a quick repair on the screen and then then began working on the other issue. Over the next 3 hours, Gene worked diligently on my machine and continually kept me informed about the status of the repair. He also answered several non related computer questions I had. Although price was never discussed before or during the repair, I was charged an extremely fair price for the work that was performed.
I cannot say enough positive things about my experience at Geek Street. The customer service, quality of work and price were outstanding. They are now my "go to" place for any computer related issues and I will not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

We walked into the shop with my computer. Gene never even asked our names or asked to sign any work order, etc. Just asked what the problem was and immediately started plugging it in to start diagnosing. Couldn't open Internet Explorer or run videos, etc. Soooooo slow. We were there for four hours (outside of when we left to go eat lunch). We wanted to stay. He worked continually even when another customer came in and then worked between both of us. I am pretty "hyper" when frustrated and on too much caffeine. :) He never lost patience and just kept working on it. We were even able to bring our Golden (Hannah) in and she ran all over the place keeping everyone company (this was cool because Gene had just had to put his own dog down two days ago). Eventually everything was cleared up and it is running like a charm. I can't say enough about how great everyone was. It is like a walk back into the 50's. As someone else said previously..."no IBM shirts". I would recommend Geek Street to anyone. I don't even want to say what I paid because I don't want him to be held to anything. But suffice it to say, it was RIDICULOUSLY reasonable!   Even have anti malware still loaded to use periodically.

The computer wouldn't boot, so after running the fix-it program (failed) I tried to clean the memory sticks last night.  I probably did clean them & that probably was what the computer needed, but I failed to properly seat the sticks (thought I had).  When I turned on the power, I risked frying my computer, but fortunately that did not happen.
For the record, turn the computer over so you are pushing h****** the sticks, NOT like you are shelving books!  Gene showed me & even had me try under his supervision.  It takes a good deal of force.  Unplug the computer first, of course.
I had a Brother laser printer I'd planned to install for over a year but they did it in just a few minutes.
The website advice is a true gift.
My late husband took his sick computers to Geek Street - had great things to say.  I would recommend them to my friends & take mine back if I ever have problems again.
They have a small parking lot at the back entrance with a ramp to make unloading easier.

I usually drop it off with them and they give it back to me in a day or so. They show me how to fix it myself. Their prices are really cheap. When I go there, they usually give a quote and they would charge me less than the quote. I end up paying $70 for virus removal. They also save all the information for me. They are meticulous. They are really laid back and really nice. I will use them again in the future.

I came in 45 minutes before they closed and they stayed late to rescue the data on my usb drive. They were very friendly and competent. The only reason I gave them a B in professionalism is because they are young computer geeks - not IBM suits! But they did the job and did it very well. I'll be using them again when/if I need to be rescued.

Great service, the price was right, and the job was completed ahead of schedule. Whenever I go in, they are ready to help and get the job done. Highly recommended.
