The technician showed up within their originally scheduled time frame. He was originally scheduled for a Sunday between 12-5. (Sunday installation works out great for us.) Dish Network called us a day or two before and asked if it would be ok for him to show up between 8:00 am and noon. We said yes, but apparently no one ever told the technician. Like I said, he did show up between 12-5, but I woke up early on a weekend to be ready just in case he came at 8:00 am. A second issue I had with Dish Network deals with their 1-800 customer service. Before we moved, we had normal service with DVR. When I called to give our new address, I told them I wanted to upgrade to HD. Of course, that incurs a $100 charge, which is understandable. I guess the representative did not look at our account to see if there was anything else I needed. They did not ask (and I forgot to mention) getting the HD receiver with DVR. After the technician installed the system and left, my son said that we could not pause the TV. I looked at the box and it said nothing about DVR. So I called the 1-800 number and told them that I wanted the HD DVR receiver. Of course, this change incurs another $100 charge for them to mail us the new system (or $150 for another technician to bring out a new system). Granted, I should have thought to ask for it, but I would have thought a customer service organization (and sales agents) would have looked to see if there were any other "extras" they could add to the package. The dish was installed free of charge with a 2-year agreement.
