I met him at the home show in Denver. I saw his portfolio and liked his work. I asked him to draw a plan for my property. He came when he said he would. I told him what I wanted done. He drew up the basic plan. I met with him to confrim that plan and make a few adjustments. When I got the first rough draft to submit to the HOA it was not complete. He leaves a lot be desired when it comes to creativity. I wanted something different from everyone elses proptery. What I got was the opposite. I had asked for a water feature and fire pit. He didn't give me any idease on what might work. I had to design the water feature. I asked him to tell me what types of plants grow well here and to call out the flowers so I would have year round color. He didn't. I wanted the sprinkler system put in before I proceeded with the rest of the landscaping. He brough a guy named Roger and his crew. They did a great job so far even though it's not all done yet. I asked for a more detailed drawing the shade cover so I could turned it into the HOA for approval. He only brought one copy. I have to copy it at work and then send him a copy. Very unprofessional. I'm still waiting for the colored copy of the plan that I paid $500 for. What I have is not to scale so it will be hard to get someone else to complete the project, but I'll manage since he's not coming back. The craftship was fair at best. He should have been able to see that a 1/4" clearance under the gate was not going to be enough room to pour concrete. The swinging of the gate was wrong for 2 reasons. First the land slopes up and the gate hit the dirt before it would be fully open and second if I pulled a trailer in the back yard I'd have to pull in an additional 5', which isn't availalble in order to close the gate. He just doesn't think through the process. He's a nice person, but is slow.
