Crown Plumbing was assigned to me by my home warranty company to replace a failing water heater. I scheduled an appointment for a Friday - 8/19, and gave Crown Plumbing the entire day to install the unit. I called the week of and day prior to install to ensure that all was okay and was told by their office representative(Cheryl) that everything was in place for an 8am-10am install. The morning of the install one plumber (Clint) showed up to begin this process while another plumber was picking up the water heater. Apparently there was miscommunication on the ordering of the water heater (First American) so the plumbers left the house to move on to the next job with the instruction that they were going to try and get the other jobs done and come back. I received a call from the home warranty company around 9am stating the water heater was available and sitting at home depot for pickup. I called Crown's office and was told that I would hear back from them related to the install, and Cheryl said it had been passed of to the owner Jack and he was supposed to call me. This was at 10am on Friday 8/19. I called later(approx 4pm) in the day with no response and left messages asking for a call back so I knew what was happening. No phone call from Jack. I then called back on Monday(3 days later) asking for the same thing, I wanted to talk to the owner and decision maker about my experience that a client can be left sitting with no communication for 9 hours related to a water heater install. Again yesterday 8/23 I left another message asking to speak with Jack about a potential install. I received a phone call today that Jack and Crown Plumbing have reached out to First American Home Buyers Protection and rejected the install. This was a terrible experience for me, not only did the water heater not get installed, I took an entire personal day from work to ensure this process was taken care of, which it was not, and then the owner and decision maker didn't even have the resolve to return one of many phone calls to discuss what alternative options may be available for install schedule. I will gladly go forward with Best Choice Plumbing which is the new alternative that First American Scheduled for me.

The guy that came out to reroute my pipe laid the pipe wrong and did not put a slope in to drain properly. I asked him to move it and put it in correctly and he wouldn't. He said he would for more money, though. So he wanted me to pay him more money to do the job I hired him to do correctly the first time. I asked for $400.00 back to hire someone to fix his mistake and he wouldn't return my calls. I reported him to BBB.
Response from CROWN PLUMBING
"THE CUSTOMER HIRED ANOTHER PLUMBER ON THE ADVISE OF HER GENERAL CONTRACTOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MODERATE SIZE REMODEL. WE DID A GREAT DEAL OF WORK AND SETTLED WITH HER FOR LESS THAN HALF THE ORIGINAL AGREED UPON PRICE. IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE REMODEL WORK WAS INCOMPLETE WHEN SHE HIRED ANOTHER PLUMBER AND THAT THE NEW PLUMBER WOULD COMPLETE ALL OF THE PLUMBING WORK WE STARTED. WE WERE CONTRACTED FOR THIS WORK IN MARCH OF 2006. WE HAVE HAD NO CONTACT FROM THE CUSTOMER SINCE, EXCEPT FOR A BBB COMPLAINT WHICH WAS FILED QUITE SOME TIME AGO. WE ARE A MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING FOR OVER 10 YEARS WITH THE BBB AND HAVE THOUSANDS OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS."

On time and polite. Original price of $149.00 plus a $29.00 service charge seemed high for a job that should have taken 30 min. After replacing the o-rings, no water would come out of the faucet. After many attempts to get the faucet to work he said that it was leaking worse than before and I needed a new faucet. Replaced faucet for $249.00. When I complained to Jack Schwartz of Crown Plumbing, he said that some faucets couldn't be repaired because of age or hard water deposits. My house is 4 yrs old and we have a functioning water softener. Later after complaining to the BBB and asking for a refund of the dif. between original est and final cost he claimed that the faucet was an unrepairable type that didn't use o-rings. I am totally unsatisfied with Crown Plumbing, their service and their response to my complaint.
