There were many issues described above including cracked concrete, railings that had to be remade at least 3 times and even the wrong color paint on the rail. The design of the lower deck was terrible-the space between the spiral staircase and hot tub was so narrow that you almost had to turn sideways to pass between them. This WAS fixed at our insistence. It was a stressful ordeal and 4 years later, the railings are a mess.

They stand behind their work. The design was beautiful. They contracted with a good hearth company, hot tub company, and outdoor furniture company. Everyone was reputable and provided quality work. It was worth every penny. They are very dependable and thorough.

This evaluation is based on a five-year experience during and after the construction of two decks. ? Design - the company offers a high level of creative options and designs. ? Materials ? powder-coated railings ? this type of railing can prove to be a deficit. When, after three years, the railing began to rust, to the company?s credit, all railing was replaced. However, now two years later, numerous rust spots are unattractive. The heads of the screws are also powder-coated, but the screw base is not, resulting in unsightly rust buildup around the screw heads, sometimes causing the screws to break or fall out of the railing, destabilizing the railing. deck flooring ? the composite resin/wood flooring installed was mismatched in coloring at the time of installation. A promise to correct the problem was never accomplished. lighting ? the lighting installed under steps can be accessed only by disassembling part of the deck, making the expense of lighting a loss. ? Warranty - the company extends a five-year warranty, promising that warranty work will begin within one week of notice of problem. On the one occasion that warranty work was requested, in a September, after a 10-day delay, no response was received from the company. The matter was turned over to the Better Business Bureau. A delay of one month passed before Colorado Custom Decks responded to the BBB. In November, two months after the initial warranty request, Colorado Custom Decks began the warranty work. Because winter weather set in, the work undertaken was finally completed the following May. ?
