The worst experience ever! The company and its representatives are the kings of bait and switch and in the case of the salesperson I dealt with, an outright liar! They were caught red handed lying about the work and the horrible mess they made in the home and then went on to damage the areas they worked on. The workmanship is lousy and the quality the same. All they care about is the quick sale, the quick install and move on. The master franchise company should revoke their franchise as they are deceptive in their practices!

Nice showroom. Low-pressure. Our designer (Patrick Hayes) was awesome and took into account our specific needs and budget. Provided blueprints and a 3D, computerized preview. Documents sent and signed electronically. Made it easy to schedule the install. Patrick showed us around the shop where they make all the components. Impressive.
The installers were on-time, courteous, professional and cautious with our home and belongings. They finished faster than promised and did an excellent job.
The product itself is FANTASTIC. Although we went for lower-level trim (I mean, please - it's a closet!) everything is well-made of quality materials. The design makes the closet easier-to-use, brighter, more organized. It seems much bigger than it did when we had the cheap wire shelving provided with most new houses these days.
Pricey, but better than most and not as bad as many. Custom closets are expensive, and I always thought they were an extravegance , but Closet Factory has made me a fan.

Design professional arrived on time. Made good suggestions. Took accurate measurements and gave estimates. Booked job for two weeks out. The crew arrived on time and completed work in less time than was stated. Job turned out great. Loved all that they did. They worked quickly and professional. I would use them again.

When we moved into our new house we had this ugly niche in the living room that was too small for our entertainment center. We contacted closet factory to help us design a built in entertainment center with cabinets. Ann helped us design it at a very detailed level. She did a great job bringing up many different options, price points, etc. Our installers were quick, incredibly clean and professional. It looks awesome and has increased our storage.

I contacted The Closet Factory via email to request a consultation. They responded quickly and scheduled a consultation for the following week. The designer met with me, measured the closet, evaluated the contents of the closet and discussed with me our requirements and our wish list for the closet. Based on that information she prepared a design and provided us with a quote for various design options and materials. The price range of closets is wide, and our budget was at the low end of that range. I was concerned that using the budget materials (a melamine laminate in white) would end up looking cheap, especially considering the amount of money it was going to cost. The Closet Factory has a showroom in the Denver area, so our designer suggested we go there to look at the finished product using the lower end materials. She also offered to meet us there outside of business hours since our schedule conflicted with the hours of the showroom. The designer met with us in our home a second time to review and change some of the design, after which we decided to proceed with the closet using the melamine.
Our installation date was approximately seven weeks from the time we signed the sales contract. The installers arrived timely and worked quickly and relatively quietly. They were professional, polite, and considerate of my three young children. The final product is quite beautiful and does not have a cheap look at all. We did spend extra to include crown moulding and backing (instead of exposed wall behind the shelves and hanging sections), and to purchase our own higher end drawer handles, which, along with the design itself, helped to make the closet look like a custom built-in master closet. We are extremely pleased with the end result and would consider utilizing The Closet Factory again for other projects in our home.

My experience with Closet Factory was, in a word, "variable." Both CF and one of their national competitors were invited to come to my home, design the wall unit and closet organizers, and bid on the job.
- CF's competitor was priced lower and offered more. The CF salesperson did all she could to discount the price but if all other things had been equal, their competitor would have won the business.
- CF's design was superior to their competitor and I liked their construction philosophy (floor-based) better than the other company (wall-hung). These are the factors that won them the job, even though they were more expensive.
- The competitor's sales person was every bit as good as CF's. Also, the competitor came to my home with a computer and she designed a 3-D model of each unit while at my home. Very, very cool.
- I had to drive to CF to see the computer-generated version of their design. However, I was also able to see a wide variety of actual examples of their work in the showroom, so it was worth the drive.
- Both places estimated 4-6 weeks lead time prior to installation. Both places also estimated 3 days total for installation of the units.
- It took a month and three separate requests by me to get a certificate of insurance from CF. I had to resort to threats in order to finally get them to send me the certificate, which was required by the HOA where I live. This lack of responsiveness had the potential to delay installation of the units and impact a much-needed vacation. This was the beginning of my customer service woes with CF.
- The two men who installed the units were punctual and congenial. However, one spoke no English and the other spoke only a limited amount. They were very respectful of my home and went out of their way to protect floors, walls, etc. They worked consistently and with care.
- On Day One I discovered a major manufacturing error after the big wall unit had been installed. In my estimation, CF missed the mark three times: no one caught the error during manufacture, no one caught it in Quality Control, and the installers missed it. This problem resulted in shelving being permanently placed over my circuit breaker box, which should have been a red flag to the installer. A big portion of the unit had to be dismantled and the correct items were manufactured overnight.
- The installer asked me to remove all items from my master closet for the start of Day Two, which was done. However, because of the problem with the wall unit on Day 1, they ended up behind schedule at the end of Day Two. I didn't realize this until 4:30, when the installer told me they were leaving for the day, with the master closet incomplete and all of my clothes, shoes and other belongings still piled up on my bed and all over the room. This is a one-bedroom loft so I inquired what he expected me to do about sleeping arrangements that night. He suggested I sleep on the couch. I will be the first to say that this reply almost caused my head to blow off my body. A $9,300 expenditure, a problem they caused the day before, and the result is the client should sleep on the couch??? BTW, I was told in a conversation with the salesperson during this time that the manager of the installation crew was insisting that they leave, regardless of where this left me. Customer service?????
- After my freakout and with the assistance of the salesperson, it was decided that the installers would stay until the hanging rods were installed so I could at least move my clothes off of the bed and sleep there. It still meant moving everything back to the bed the next day so they could finish the job, but since the only other option was sleeping on the couch, it was worth it.
- The owner of the company called later that evening while I was out having dinner/feeling remorse for choosing CF. He apologized for the problem and offered to bring rolling racks to my home. SO not the point. Again, customer service??
- The final day went smoothly and the last closet organizer was installed with no problems. The guys left by 1pm. At my request on the previous day of freakout, the salesperson came by to look everything over. While she was here I noticed that the top half of the wall unit was not aligned with the bottom half -- it was off by approximately one inch. Correcting this would have meant bringing the installers back, tearing out the top half (for a second time) and re-installing. Frankly, I just wanted the entire experience to be over with, and no more impact on my home. The salesperson was aware of the mistake as soon as I noticed it, agreed it was a problem, and also heard me say that I'd had enough and would just learn to live with it. One would have thought that an offer to compensate me in some way for yet another problem would have arisen from this, but it didn't. Once more: customer service???
Response from Closet Factory - Denver
"I called this member to discuss her comments regarding our customer service: She had a right to be upset when we failed to recognize she didn't have a place to sleep because she had nowhere to put her clothes overnight. Our installers should not have removed the old closet system until the scheduled third day of installation which is when the new closet was installed. They didn't intentionally want to inconvenience her when they removed the old closet, but we should have pro-actively had them stay later to install the hanging sections which we ended up doing. We have discussed this in length with our installers and office staff and will work hard to be more pro-active in the future. Our designers can design in the client's home, but on a large project like this it's generally better for the client to come in to our showroom to spend time reviewing the plans and looking at finish and door style options. I'm glad she felt this was worth her time. Closet Factory has been in business over 20 years, and we ae fully insured. We did comply with her original request to submit a certificate of insurance, but our insurance company sent it directly to the HOA representative. There was a failure on our part to let her know it had been done. In the future we will make sure to copy our client when a request for insurance is made. With regards to the manufacturing error...Our manufacturing staff and installation crew mis-interpreted the instructions on the design. Unfortunately this happens from time-to-time with custom work. I'm glad she caught it, and we were able to correct the problem overnight and complete the installation within the time scheduled. I have offered to come out to look at the alignment issue, and let her know how much time and effort it would take to move the upper cabinet the approximate 1" to line up perfectly with the lower cabinet. I don't believe we would need to dis-assemble the entire upper section, and it might require 2-3 hours of time to get the units lined up. In summary I'm glad she is pleased with the overall designs and quality of our product. Many times a better design requires more material and will cost more. We work hard to make the overall buying experience a good one for our customers, but we fell short in a number of areas in her case. We take her comments seriously, and have discussed these issues internally, and have established better proceedures to keep them from happening in the future. We appreciate her business and hope she will look to us again for her future projects."

As part of our master bath remodel, we decided to replace two cramped walk-in closets with one larger closet. We interviewed several closet companies and had two of them visit the house and prepare designs. Closet Factory's design suited us the best, and their designer had quite a few very useful suggestions for the layout and types of equipment to include. As a result, we're getting a great deal more utility out of the new closet than from the old ones, even though the floor area is roughly the same.
The work was done on time and for the promised price. Because of the complicated shape of the space, installation was challenging and took three days, but they did a beautiful job. The finished result looks really impressive and, more importantly, works really well for us. For the first time, we can keep nearly all of our clothes in the closet, freeing up bedroom space that was previously taken up by two large dressers. And it's great to see all of our clothes so well organized as well.
The final result looks so nice... and the price was less than we were expecting to pay when we first began shopping for a new closet.

The Closet Factory process worked just fine for me. While I am confident the several competitors I also had design and bid on my closet and office jobs would have turned out well, what sealed me on the Closet Factory was Jacqueline's excellent design advice and her ability to capture what my design and cost goals were. Everything turned out fine on the install and I'm happy with the job.

My husband is very pleased with his side of the closet. Overall they did a great, but one negative aspect is that the designer did not take into account my particular needs. And didn't follow through with the installation. The closet was designed for a tall person and I have difficulties reaching the higher shelves.

Jacqueline Lewis and her Closet Factory team are great! Jacqueline designed the perfect closet for us. She listened to what we wanted and created a closet design that was efficient, and looks great. The installation team was also great. They were on time, and got the job done on time. They were careful to not make any mess and even polished the unit before leaving. The unit itself is solid and I know if will last a lifetime. I could not be happier. Many thanks to Jacqueline Lewis and her installation team. I highly recommend them!
