Started off well. George did not listen well and therefore a lot of mistakes were made. He corrected them but it got annoying because it extended the remodeling process unnecessarily. Used electricians and plumbers that did inferior work. Lack of communication between George and his workers. Workers did not take pride in their work so some sloppy stuff. George lacked the ability to manage everyone that was there. Many of them did not have very good things to say about his management style.

We are still in the process of having our basement repaired after a flood from a broken pipe but we've been very pleased thus far. Very punctual, professional and affordable!

It went very well.  George managed the re-model two stages (to meet our financial constraints).
George's approach was to work closely with us from the beginning, recognizing both our desires and constraints.  He visited our property and spent 3 or 4 hours talking to us about what we felt we wanted to achieve, what our timeline for the remodel was and what our anticipated budget was.
Stage 1 was stripping the existing home and remodeling it to a level where we could move into the home - this consisted of doing the the structural modifications, the flooring, the kitchen remodel and one bathroom. This was accomplished in the time period between March and June 2011.  Stage 2, which was completion of the second bathroom, the fireplace and a variety of finishing touches was completed between October and December 2011.
George listened to everything we said and worked with us to capture all our "needs" and most of our "wants". He worked extensively to choose cheaper options or solutions that met both our needs and financing limitations and provided us with information that allowed us to make informed choices with regards to those "wants"  that we did not really need (and could not afford).  We never felt pressured to choose expensive options, quite to the contrary - he generally pushed us to the best economic and practical solution - we valued him as a trusted advisor.
There were no surprises on budget, some very minor issues on schedule, but in fairness, schedule issues did not impact us.

Project was a little behind but the end result was exactly what we wanted.  Our request was that the final porch look like it had always belonged on our 100 year old house and he nailed it.  We would use George again and highly recommend him.  There is a picture of the porch on Burley's website.

We decided an addition would be a good long-term investement in our neighborhood. After finalizing a design that used all the historic details of our old Victorian, we knew we'd need a builder with experience with older homes-homes that are never level, plumb or square. We went with Burley Construction because of the builder's years of experience in our area, working on these older homes. Our neighbor did a similar addition using a builder with no experience with the type of foundation construction our homes are buiilt on and, sadly, the back of their house collapsed during excavation. We didn't want that to happen, so we chose someone who knew a "rubble" foundation underpinned our house and knew how to carefully reinforce, excavate and attach to it. Once the foundation was in place, Burley's framing crew got to work. They built the most beautiful balloon-framed structure-I told them it was a shame that we would cover it with walls! Then the structure was "dried in." with James Hardie cement board lap siding and the ornate corbels, fluting and molding that replicated the look of the original front of the house. Six months later, we were back in our house, with new PEX plumbing lines, an on-demand hot water system, a re-routed HVAC system, in-floor heat under all tile floors and new windows carefully recessed back in the exterior walls (again to replicate the look of the original house). The paint colors matched perfectly, as well.
Here's the best recommendation: as our neighbors watched the progress, one by one, they hired Burley to work on their homes. They restored a neighbor's sagging front porch and built a gorgeous two-car garage at the home that had collapsed during their second story add-on (they apparently had had enough of their original contractor). Again, Burley matched the details of their second story perfectly-it's the best looking garage in Wash Park!
George Trusz is incredibly easy to communicate with. His crews always welcomed our visits to the jobsite and would take the time to talk us through whatever they were doing and everyone involved listened to us, calmed our fears and kept the whole build on a positive note. That's why they received "A" ratings across the board-we couldn't be happier.
If I knew how to post pictures of the before and after, I would.
