It went great! I would absolutely hire this company again. They were out here on time and had the needed parts in stock. Their rep, Greg, was really personable and explained everything that was going on.

I ran a load and it completed with the same Error Warning.  This time I was able to reset.  Serviceman told me to call if I had a problem.  Not doing that since when he left he told me I would need a new electrical panel.  The machine diagnosed itself as a Broken Clutch.  I imagine a new electrical panel is far more expensive than a clutch. Not gambling more money on a "maybe".  I should have read pages 2-3-4 of reviews.  My fault, I wasn't careful in my research of the company.

The technician determined that our dishwasher was fixable. The soap dispenser was no longer opening its door at the appropriate point in the cycle. However, after he quoted the price for the part and we turned pale, he suggested that we could simply watch the cycle clock ourselves and throw in a dishwasher soap pouch at the appropriate moment. While that isn't as convenient as a soap dispenser that works, the price was right, especially considering that the dishwasher has some years on it and hopefully will be replaced in the next year or two. We were happy with his suggestion and that he did not attempt to "sell" us on a repair that really wasn't worth it.

They responded promptly and Bruce did a fine job. The bill was basically $30 for the new switch and $100 labor to install it. For no more work than was required, I think $100 is an outrageous labor charge. HOWEVER, I think appliance repair labor costs are getting to be more like the prices charged by plumbers and electricians. So I don't think the charge was terribly out of line, but neither was it anything special ? therefore I just gave them an average ?C? rating.

I called Bear Valley at the recommendation of another provider who doesn't do appliance repair.  All of my contact with the main office was very professional and we scheduled a person to come out the next day but he explained that the person wouldn't be able to diagnose the problem if the freezer wasn't making the noise that caused us alarm.  I kind of get this, but felt like a repairman should at least check a few things.  The next day Ralph called a few minutes before he arrived and of course, the freezer wasn't making the noise and we had no way to estimate when it would or what might be causing it so he said he'd come back the next day.  Again, he called before he arrived and I had been able to estimate how and when the freezer made the noise.  He did a couple checks and said that it was the ice maker since the noise only happened when the ice maker was on.  We decided to wait for the repair and called a few weeks later to have them come out again.  Again, we got Ralph who didn't remember coming out or hearing the noise so he had to hear it again.  I honestly can't remember if it made the noise again but I did tell him where the noise seemed to be coming from - and it wasn't the ice maker.  None-the-less I agreed to have the ice maker replaced since I assumed he knew what he was doing.  He said he'd check back in a few weeks later to make sure the problem was taken care of.  He never called and literally the same day we had the work done the problem was back.  We ended up taking the back off the freezer and found that there was ice accumulated near the cooling fan.  Why couldn't Ralph have checked that??  It amazes me that all he did was basically listen and say "this is it".  We now have an extra ice maker.
On a side note, I also asked him to check our washing machine since it seemed to be flooding our basement.  He did some checks and said the transmission was going out and that the speed was causing the tub to overflow.  Instead of having repairs done we decided to install a new washer.  After we had the new washer installed we had floods again.  Obviously our washing machine wasn't broken.  It turned out to be a drain issue, but the hassle of switching machines due to a "diagnosed" problem was enough to make us never want to have this company come out again.

Went well.  Brian showed up on time as scheduled.  He worked efficiently, quietly, neatly.  The cost was half labor and half parts.  He installed the new water filter we had on hand, too, while he was replacing the bad valve.
I have used Bear Valley Appliance in the past.  On more than one occasion, we have called them, described the washer or dryer problem over the phone, they made a DIY recommended fix, we bought the necessary parts, followed their instructions and problem solved.  It is nice to be able to speak to someone who has knowledge of appliance repair, part ordering, prices, etc and not just someone who all they can do is to schedule an appointment and wish you luck.

Took a couple hours, with Bruce having to go get parts, but nothing I would consider out of the ordinary.  Ice maker and water work great!

The repairman had to come out twice because he didn't have one of the parts. A week later
I called because the refrigerator wasn't staying cold and was told the compressor went out, would cost approx. $700.00. I had already spent $272.00, and could buy a new refrigerator for the total cost of fixing my old one. I asked if he could take out the new parts and give me credit, but he said he couldn't. So, I spent $272.00 for nothing. He did refund me the trip cost of $80.00.

Called early in the morning regarding our refrigerator. The technician arrived within a couple of hours, diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor starter switch. He had the part, replaced it, and was gone within an hour.

Overall excellent experience, prompt, courteous , honest. Would definitely use them again!

I called, described the problem, and gave the model number of the stove.  The part would be about $40 and I am not comfortable working with the gas lines so I asked about installation as well.  I thought the price he gave me, $120, was for the part and installation.  I agreed to have it installed.  I was told that they would order the part and call me back.  I called the next week and talked to Rick.  He found my information, told me the part was back-ordered at the warehouse and that he would find out what was up.  He called back to tell me the part was still at the manufacturer's warehouse and they would receive it in the next few days and call me.  Mike called me and set up a time to install the part.  He showed up on time and went to work.  He did not check the problem, and I didn't think of suggesting it.  He replaced the part after taking out 16 screws, half with a wrench and half with an electric screwdriver, and replaced the whole fitting that brings gas to the burner, which includes the electric ignition piece.  He then reassembled the stove and gave me some good advice about how to keep the burner assemblies clean so they function well.  In all, he spent less than half an hour at my house.  He was friendly and helpful.I was disappointed that the hourly rate was $120, not $80.  The entire gas assembly under the burner was replaced instead of just the tiny ceramic and metal ignitor, which might have cost less.  I don't know, and will never know, if it was just some corrosion buildup from the gas.

This was a completely different experience than the previous time that I used them. On this occasion, they sent out a company that they had sub-contracted the work out to and they didn't let me know this first. They ended up having to come out on twice before it was completely fixed.
