They were quick to respond, professional and at a reasonable price. I think the best way to judge a company or service is not when everything goes perfectly, but when you can see how they respond when something goes wrong. In the case of my garage door installation, the new rails weren't high enough to clear the side-door. A-1 Garage quickly found a replacement set of rails and scheduled a next day follow-up visit to swap them out. There was no arguing, price changes, charges for extra work or problems. The issue was solved quickly and reasonably. I'd happily work with them again.

It was several years old but it was a lifetime warranty. The springs were free, but they charged me for labor. I call them. They came out the same day, within a couple of hours. They did the job. They were gone within an hour and a half. They are very responsive. One of the springs didn't line up properly. They had to take it off and put a new one on and they were still done quickly. They were very punctual.

It went horrible. First off, they didn't install it all the way - the opener is supposed to connect to WIFI (although I'm not sure the opener even has that capability - something to bring up in small claims court I guess), they didn't install it. They said that their "technicians aren't allowed to enter the home", no one told our technician Jeff that though as he over the course of several visits used our bathroom... Within a week of the the garage door opener being installed it malfunctioned which caused the garage door to slam shut. We requested several times for them to come look at it, but they wouldn't show up. They didn't call, they didn't text, nothing. They just wouldn't show up. When they did show up, they said that they couldn't fix it because the garage door broke and that wasn't covered under their warranty. They told us that they could fix it for an additional $300. I told them we would figure something else out. I was able to fix the door myself (it was so easy it's ridiculous they didn't just do it), but then we needed to have the door re-programed. When the technician came back to reprogram the door he said we "voided the warranty by fixing the garage door", apparently only they could fix the garage door that wasn't covered by the warranty because other wise it would void the warranty (If your confused by that logic, it's called extortion and it's illegal). Since we were so unhappy with our service, we requested in person, in writing and over the phone that we would like a refund. When we told the technician in person, he said he had to make a phone call and then got in his car and drove away. When we requested it in email, the emails were ignored. When we requested it over the phone, we were told "You should be happy you got a week out of that open, $600 for an opener like that is a **** of a deal". We are currently looking to pursue action in the form of a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and are planning to take A-1 to small claims court.

They went above and beyond for me.  I noticed that somebody had given them a bad review but that is just one person.  But they did such a good job and went above and beyond fixing somebody else’s work that I want to give them a good review. I just want to say that everything was great with them.  They fixed somebody else’s work without a question.

BEWARE. STAY AWAY.
They replaced the garage door opener unit. It cost me about $400 dollars. That part went fine. HOWEVER, just a few months later my garage door wouldn't close. I called them to ask for help. I was informed that they only offer a 90 day warranty and I was NINE days past that time period. They said it would cost an $85 service fee for them just to come out and look at it and then whatever labor and parts it cost to fix it. I asked if I could speak with someone else and if there was anything they could do to help me. I reminded them it cost me hundreds of dollars and I would expect it to work longer than 90 days. The lady said sorry, it's 9 days past warranty. Most companies will work with you in a situation like this to keep the customer happy, but they absolutely wouldn't budge. I asked if they could waive the service fee or something and just have someone come look at it. Again, nope. Too bad. You're 9 days out of warranty. There's nothing we can do to help you.
I would NEVER recommend doing business with a company that won't work with the customer, that won't stand behind a product or a repair job. Clearly they don't care about keeping my business. I will let my friends know NOT to ever use this company and I would highly recommend you don't either. It might be fine for the install, but if you have a problem with the job, they won't flex to help you.

"Hi [Member Name Removed]. I am personally responsible for this poor experience you had. I had someone answering the phones who was not inline with my company culture and values. We have implemented new employee owned company structure and this has helped things quite a bit. Did you ever determine what the problem was? Our cost to come and quote services is now $20."

Completed work efficiently and effectively.  The only hiccup that I ran into is that the original person I talked to on the phone was not available when I called back to talk to him.  And so I had to wait for him to get back to me about the quote that he gave me over the phone, and this took longer than I would have liked (2 days).  Other than that I had a great experience with this company.  I  know that other people have written some bad reviews for this company, however, I noticed that most of the bad reviews are from repairs to garage doors and springs.  So we decided to try them out because we were getting a complete replacement and they were very competitively priced.  So I guess it just depends on what service you need whether or not you should use them.  But like I said our complete replacement went great!

A-1 came out within an hour of me calling for service. They replaced the springs and wiring in about 1/2 hour or so.
Technician suggested painting the inside of our garage door to prolong it's life.
This is the second time I've used this company, and I've always had excellent service from them.
