Overall, I would describe his work as amateurish. He has the basics but doesn't finish the last 10% (literally and figuratively). He did a less than satisfactory job of installing and staining wood floors and the stain he splashed on our kitchen cabinets won't come off. Looks bad. The finish does not look uniform in all areas and is rough in someplaces. A year later we have numerous spots where wood has dried out between boards and is actually breaking apart. He did a good job of installing carpet although some of the carpet was not what we ordered and of a lesser quality. He installed this lower quality carpet without our knowledge. He stained the balusters and hand rails but after he applied polyurethane in a dusty environment, they feel like 60 grit sandpaper. He left all of the spindles supporting the handrails loose. He painted the trim around the new wood floors a flat finish when the rest of the trim was a satin finish. It's noticeably. He installed the wiring for under-counter but just left the wires hanging...no under-counter lights. He installed a door but it is 34 inches too big for the door to close. No kidding. He installed on half of our new door levers upside down. The bathroom tile looks nice but he left a 1 inch gap around the bathroom cabinet. He left the house a mess. He could not (or would not) give us a final reconciliation of our bill. But the biggest shortcoming was after my wife paid him in full (it was our mistake to trust Kenny Farrell) and he promised to quickly come back to fix these items, he never did. He would not even return our phone calls, emails or text. We later discovered his business was not licensed.
