Healthy Hounds & Fat Cats is Durango's original doggy daycare. Located seconds from downtown and the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and just 1/4 mile form the dog park.

Services we offer

Doggy Day care & boarding (no mandatory nap time!), cat boarding, dog & cat supplies, self service dog wash, full service grooming. We cater to the regular Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Schedule. Our daycare and boarding dogs enjoy playing and lounging in 1 of 3 back yards or a climate controlled indoor playroom. Cats get to play outside in their screened in porch, weather permitting. Check out our grain free foods, toys made with organic cotton, and treats made in the USA!

Spoke to the head groomer on phone. Sounded great, but my dog was actually trimmed by someone new. His haircut was extremely short, not to |my directions....maybe I wasn't clear enough of how long I expected a puppy cut to be. All were very nice, but I found another groomer I like |a lot and don't want to chance another mistake.

I realize you found someone else you like, but I would like to offer you a free bath and brush out,( and trimming if you would like that as well). Please call if you would like to set something up. My dog has huge separation anxiety issues but she loves going to Healthy Hounds. We put her in doggy daycare when we are gone for the day and this is the only place that we will kennel her. The first time we kenneled her, we were gone for a couple of weeks. After 5 days of being kenneled at night, my dog got diarrhea. Healthy Hounds tried changing her food, then they realized that it was the kennel itself so the owner personally took my dog home every night and treated her as one of her own-let her sleep on the sofa, took her hiking. It meant the world to us that they would go out of their way for our dog.
