HAWKEYE BUILDERS INC

Martin Smith is an outstanding craftsman/builder but I ended up with something much different than what I asked him to build originally. He suggested diferent materials, inside finish, roofing etc., which was going to save me money because he had some materials that he would provide at a "discount" since they were leftover from other jobs. I wanted a blue metal roof to match the roof on our existing building - I got rusty colored corregated metal. I wanted to wrap/cover the evaves and gable ends with the blue metal roofing to keep the woodpeckers from poking holes in the building - he recommended/used some kind of very hard board/material that would provide just as much protection. He said he could finish the inside with T&G (which would have been similar to our other building) but that ended up being OSB. This is a well house that sits on top of the cistern. It's very small. I had someone else lay the block and also had a local electrical company do all the electrical work. Perhaps, I should have received an estimate before going forward with the roof, door, and insulation. I take responsibility for not doing that. I also take responsibility for not "sticking to my original plans & materials. Had I done that, I'd be much more satisfied!
