I took a running 1983 vw vanagon to these guys for a pre-purchase inspection for an out of state buyer. They found some minor problems and the buyer agreed to have them work on the vehicle. Days later they called me saying the engine had seized up. They claimed no responsibility and did nothing to work with me. They cost me over $4000 in damages. I also had a friend take a diesel jetta there for a blown turbo. They fixed the turbo, but less than 10 miles out of the shop my friends steering needed $2000 worth of work done to it. He had never had any problem with the steering before.

As far as I know this is the only place that really specialized in Volkswagens, so I felt it was the right place to take my car to be repaired. I have seen mixed reviews from other people but I am satisfied with the service I received.

After a series of less the good experiences with them I only took my car back there because I needed  for the next weekend and the shop that was recommended couldn't get me in until after that. On monday I made an appointment for wed. They never looked at it until thursday. Then they ordered the wrong part so I didn't have my car for the weekend. The following monday afternoon they got the new part on but that didn't fix the problem. They charged me $379.00 to replace a 02 sensor. $168 for the part. I found it online for $119. also instructions on how to replace it. A very simple job basically one screw in fitting and a plug in with easy access. For that I paid over $200. THESE GUY'S ARE A RIP OFF Today I'll tow my car to the recommended shop.
Response from DURANGO SMALL CAR
"After customer dropped off vehicle to inspect for running rough. Inspect and found check engine light on, code 28 O2 sensor circuit. Recommended replace O2 sensor and retest. Replace sensor and test drive check engine light is off. Vehicle still runs rough after warmed up. $337.95 for this repair. Customer declined further repairs."
