I contacted Army Ant Movers to move me from the Monte Vista to Durango, CO. After filling out their online checklist, I was quoted a price of $1704. Two days prior to the scheduled pick up date the boss (Charlie) called me and asked if he could change the date as his crews were too tired after moving someone else to Texas. I said no that we had to move on the scheduled date, he agreed and told me the crew would be there at 10am to start. He estimated 4 hours to load, 2.5 hours to drive, and 4 hours to unload. At 10am no one had shown up. I called him to ask where the crew was and they were just barely leaving Durango - scheduled to arrive at 12:30pm. 1:30pm and they finally showed up. My wife and I had prepacked all of the items, so all they had to do was place them on the truck. It took 3 guys until 9pm to load the truck. To beat that, they ran out of space and couldn't fit all of my stuff. (I had to make 3 separate trips with my own trailer to pick up the rest.) We didn't get into Durango until 1am and they told me they would store the stuff overnight and start"early" the next day with 6 guys to unload. They returned at 10am only to find that their trailer could not make it up my driveway. They had to shuttle my stuff from another location and they asked me to borrow my truck to help them. Finally after several more hours they finished unloading. Charlie then presented the bill for $2400. I went through the itemized bill and found several mistakes where we had been over charged. He did drop the price slightly. During the move, his crew broke my dining room chandelier. He said send me an invoice for it. I have sent two invoices and have not heard anything. I would not recommend this company for anything. They are not professional in any way.
