Friendly staff.

That was ok. The price was good. It would be the service itself. They said that they would take the cat out for a certain number of times per day but when they opened the cage, they didn't just let him get out on his own. They tried to reach in and grab him and he wasn't ok with that, so then they just left him in the cage the whole time. We thought they would just leave the door open and let him leave on his own because that's kinda more his style. So he just ended up being in the cage the whole weekend. 

They were actually very, very helpful, as far as they were able to accommodate us last minute. The other boarding area was actually closed and that animal hospital didn't tell us that. We showed up and they were closed so we called the Alameda location and they were able to take us even though they were technically after hours. 

We try not to board our cat but if we had to, they are on our list.

Went amazingly well! They suggested several options for our dog who was sick and seems to have a stomach obstruction. We couldn't afford the surgery so we went with the option of fluids to see if he could pass it. They continued to take X-rays and contacted us several time through out the 24 hours to let us know updates and results that were coming back. He got a ton better also. They still suggested X-rays to make sure he was ok and still needed surgery but gave us a list of other veterinary clinics that would give us a discount since we could afford their emergency rates. All of the doctors and staff we talked to were very supportive and kind as well as very helpful in explaining and answering our questions. While I was not a fan of their rates, I understand why they are higher and was happy to have somewhere open rather than nothing at all on the holiday weekend. 

They're expensive. Their work is excellent. They're awesome. They have well-trained staff, they know what they're doing. They're great in an emergency.

HORRIBLE. I waited two hours for an ER doctor....who NEVER came in...my dog was becoming additionally stressed so I left. Went back...waited another two hours....still no ER doctor came in to check my dog.  The techs kept telling me that my dog was stable.... i was hysterical but it didn't matter... all my dog needed was IV fluids like the other rimes this had happened but since no vet would come in to authorize it, my dog died an all day and very painful death.  One of the saddest days of my life!

i got no feedback at all from them about how my dog handled the boarding which made me feel that she was not paid attention to.

I've used them for 15 years. They don't do training but they're a hospital and have over 25 vets. They do all kinds of testing. They get everything done there. They're very professional and very good. They're totally trustworthy. Their pricing is most probably a little bit higher in my opinion, but it's well worth it because they do everything there. They board cats and dogs. They have a day center for dogs. They also do reptiles too. I'll absolutely use them again.

I love Dr. Fitzgerald he is wonderful.  He is just a real professional, and a great vet.  I have used their boarding facility, they have taken care of clipping the nails, and I have used their emergency services.  I have used all the service that they offer and I have been going to them for years.

They've been keeping our cats healthy for the last 12 years!

I was very emotional about having to do it, even though I knew it was the right decision. The entire staff was very patient with me, explained the entire process and were very gentle and kind. I was very impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of the vet. 
Two months later, my daughter had to do the same with her 20 year old cat and she went here as well. She received the same kind service.
Yesterday, I adopted a new little kitty. I wish the hospital was a little closer to home so I could use them for routine care, however I wouldn't hesitate to use them for emergency services. Great staff no matter what time of day or night - I highly recommend this business.

I took my dog here for emergency care. He was vomiting, shaking not eating or drinking. After hours of tests they come back that nothing is wrong and maybe he just needed his anal glands cleaned. I took my dog home and he continued to be very ill. I took him to another emergency vet and thank goodness I did! My dog had Addison's and was going into organ shut down! Thankfully I found another facility or my dog would not be alive today. Worst place ever!

Everything went great.  They provided excellent service and gentle care for my soon to be 12 year old cat. 

It went well.  They are very affordable for 2 dogs and it is very convenient for them to have their shots updated on the hospital side during day care.  Very affordable for doggie day care

It is really important to me that my doctor can explain what is going on with my animals and they do a really nice job by making sure I understand. They give me phone calls and update me if I need to do or change anything.

I like Dr. Israel at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. He is a very nice fellow and my cats actually seem to be okay with him which is a rarity. He is very personable. My cats trust him, they feel comfortable with him, and they are more relaxed than usual at the vet with him. He recommended reasonable things, he listened, and he got my cats off of unnecessary medications. I trust what he says, he's calm but concerned, and I like how relaxed he is. The price at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital is reasonable and they are open 24/7. 

They quoted a 'not to exceed' price which was reassuring, since this was an expensive procedure.  They honored the agreed price.  Our dog is recovering and we are happy with the results.  The staff was outstanding and I wish people doctors were as caring as our vet Dr. Cavanaugh and his staff.

I have a very sensitive British Shorthair Cat. There was a cat sitting room for us to wait for the doctor. It was very peaceful and pleasant. My Veterinarian was wonderful and caring.

The doctor was kind and professional during the visit toward me as well as the cats.  My older cat, Bertille, who is ordinarily afraid of everyone but me, warmed up to Dr. Ruff during the visit and was friendly and interested by the end of it. Bertie is seven years old and has never liked a stranger before, especially one who gave her shots, but Dr. Ruff's warmth and kindness won her over.  i will certainly return to this clinic with my pets.

When I called to make the appointment, the gentleman on the phone was quite friendly and helpful. At the clinic, the overall experience was excellent. I don't think I've ever been to a friendlier and more efficient vet. Everyone was smiling which put my dog and I both at ease. He was examined by Dr. Barbara McLucas, who even sat on the floor with Bear to make him more comfortable. She was very knowledgeable and prescribed some medication for him. On my way out, I picked up his prescription at their pharmacy and checked out. It was an extremely pleasant and highly-organized process for our first visit. They also have 24/7 emergency services, a pet lodge and physical therapy. I was quite impressed and will definitely return.
